Buying larger-capacity tanks from china by an individual I don't think will be affected. What/how do you propose for "devices that use almost no e-liquid" ?
I recall reading some interesting e-liquid patents made in around 2013 involving nicotine oxides that give a far better /faster mg for mg hit than nicotine free base.

The U.K. Government have already stated they plan on treating the TPD as lightly as they can and will not ban people from importing products from countries not covered by EU law so the only difference as I understand it will be where we buy from, not what we buy. ...and this shouldn't stop buying from China p.s. the TPD will STOP fags being sold in 10s to discourage the chiiiildren..... Every government in the EU including the UK is looking at Taxing " nicotine containing liquids-" The TPD has never been about your safety - it has always been about a uniform and workable system of Taxation across the EU When a Tax is placed on nicotine containing e-liquids the talk on the forums will be about devices that use almost no e-liquid. Any risk of people avoiding Tax by importing nicotine from outside the EU will be avoided by introducing new laws and fines.

Placed on the market is just that. It means for sale, so will apply to anyone selling it. Manufacturer through to final retailer. However you are reading the TPD version rather than the UK version which is what we will have to follow. The wording is subtly different, which is what I was pointing out in the first post. The full details of " placed on the market" can be found if you search google for ---- The 'Blue Guide' on the implementation of EU product rules 2016--- Section 2.3 page 19

Many e-liquid makers will offer splash and dash as a work round for e-liquid that fail the TPD
As far as DIY nicotine base or pre made e-liquids , if it is a "nicotine containing liquid" then it will be required to be sold/placed on the market in 10ml bottles with a max strength of 20mg
unfortunately the argument that if a "nicotine containing liquid" fails to meet the requirements on bottle size or mg strength or for that matter testing, labelling, length of dripper insert, reporting, it then stands to reason it can be openly sold is not going to work.

The problem is that nicotine-containing liquid must be supplied/ only offered for sale in a dedicated Refill containers that has to conform to EU regulations - 10ml max with a non removable 1cm dropper correct label max of 20mg etc) That would cover all sales on webshops and bricks and mortar outlets
Yes Commercial juice producers will be able to direct purchase nicotine base. Most remaining Commercial juice producers will be purchasing Commercial nicotine base from producers in IBC 1000lt Yes At this point in time industrial size nicotine base is being openly sold to the public - the size of bottles and the mg strength have crept up as new companies have attempted to price others out of a very small market over the last 5 years the mg price falling by over 90%
After TPD unless it is felt that selling DIY nicotine base in bulk would make vastly more profit than 10ml bottles of unflavoured 20mg the remaining players will not risk ending up court in order offer it for sale to the public.

I think The E-cig Shop are the first to offer Liquid Barn concentrates in the UK, maybe even in Europe. The experienced mixers on the ELR forums rate LB flavours highly and several reckon their Vanilla Ice Cream is the best available. And the Butterscotch Graham Tobacco is supposed to be good too. From a clue on their website, I'd guess that The E-cig Shop will soon be stocking Salub Arome concentrates, (I think) previously only available from Rainbow Vapes or direct from France. As no one has pointed it out yet The AP level of the liquid barn "Vanilla Ice Cream" is just unbelievable- not unbelievable in a good way more unbelievable that it is sold as a e-liquid flavour Vanilla ice cream (Pure Extract) @ 35000 ppm (35,000,000 ppb) AP------ around 3.5% AP

!n order to aid mixing by weight I have now added some weight to my products
Nicotine containing DIY base weight of 72mg VG = 1.219 grams per ml—- Made with AG @10% distilled water weight of 52mg VG =1.224 grams per ml —-Made with AG @10% distilled water weight of 74mg PG =1.0359 grams per ml weight of 72mg PG =1.036 grams per ml weight of 52mg PG =1.0365 grams per ml
Weights of non nicotine containing liquids Weight of PG: 1.038 grams per ml Weight of VG: 1.26 grams per ml Weight of AG @ 10% distilled water 1.234 grams per ml
Other weights Weight of distilled water 1.00 grams per ml
Weight of Pure Nicotine: 1.01 grams per ml
Notes : These weight are rounded up or down and are taken at or around room temp with USP grades.
You will NOT see the weight of VG nicotine base made from just pure VG and pure nicotine this is because i don't make or sell it.
The amount of distilled water used in VG nicotine base will effect the finished weight.

what glass bottles are people using to put them in the freezer, guessing the pippette ones one be any good? Work out how much nicotine base you use per 6 months then order bottle size that best match your usage. For the freezer it does not matter what colour the glass bottles are as the little light goes out when the freezer door is shut In many ways for long term storage it is handy to see the colour of the liquid for example you have 10 small bottles of nicotine base stored in clear glass and one of them is seen to be slightly darker you then use that one first. The important thing is keeping the air out/ very little head room - air contains around 20% oxygen- fill to the very brim as DIY nicotine base does not expand in the freezer. Many references to long term freezer storage on overseas forums suggest that over the years a small drop in nicotine content can be expected - around a 6% drop seems to be suggested/test results - others have reported no drop in nicotine content years later with the liquid still as good as the day it was placed in the freezer.

Small doses of nicotine can have an emetic effect whereas large fail to cause vomiting and can even be anti-emetic. SOURCEDoes this mean you will be updating your Guide to chemicals as it is somewhat wrong/incomplete / assumptions/misleading in a number of sections.

PG USP/EP has official shelf life of two years for normal factory conditions - however in the past it was common practice to retest and re certificate PG USP/EP nowadays Manufacturers do not support shelf life extension but do recommend downgrading to Propylene Glycol Industrial/Technical Grade.
You might want to add the words morgue or mortuary to the end of your reference to drinking a bottle of 72mg "Drink that bottle of 72mg/ml DIY nicotine and you’ll be having a trip to the hospital"

I'm looking to thin my Boots VG with some Purified water from Tesco. As its not always available, I managed to clear the shelf of VG in boots today. I now want to dilute it a bit as its super thick and I want to try some high VG mixes, what percentage do you guys use? Most AG has around 10%-15% distilled water - this added water thins the VG down to a more workable level. However If you wish to avoid adding any water you can just warming the VG up - this will also make it far more workable. You might find that this thicker finished high VG e-liquid is best suited for dripping or high flow devices !

Just started mixing and finding the provided 5ml and 10ml syringes a pain to use. Are there for example pipettes I can buy which are accurate and easy to clean? I have nothing against scales - i use them all the time - i own thousands pounds worth of scales and many thousands more of high end pipettes, bottle top dispensers However i always reach for a syringe - far easier to squirt a little back into the bottle from a syringe than to recalculate your whole mix if you pour a little to much of any one liquid into your beaker. Edit: i am only making small batches - 10-20ml in size once or twice a week.

This trend of using percent for nicotine strength is getting a large number of users confused 1mg = 1 part per 1000 1% = i part per 100 parts For example : 12mg = 1.2%-- and is best expressed as 12mg (1,2%) to avoid confusion if you did mean 12% it would be very clear if expressed as 120mg ( 12%)
