Hah! Each to their own, I quite like the look of it now, if only I could get the damn thing to wick with any consistency... Haven't tried my Taifun yet, it looks like a bugger for flooding though I have the other trouble - the gs is so hard to get a decent flow of juice to the coil, and it keeps giving yucky dry hits. I'm working on it...

Now that is one ugly set up that ionian reminds me of the BT tower for some reason Hah! Each to their own, I quite like the look of it now, if only I could get the damn thing to wick with any consistency...

I've not tried the iclear 30b, but it has mixed reviews.
I personally like the iclear 30s, for me it has been 100% reliable and a great vape. It's very very similar to what you have already, however.
I've heard great things about the aspire BDC range, but again haven't tried them.
Many people love protanks (and other similar bottom coil tanks - mini protanks, Davides, aerotank etc) but they weren't for me, as I found them a little leaky.
The good news is you can stick anything on an MVP, so find something that takes your fancy and give it a whirl.

Thank you all for your replies......so much out there and what to decide on.....I think I will just have to do little trial and error to find what suits me. Thank you again It's the only way to do it - try little bottles of various bits and see what takes your fancy. It might be quite expensive in this first week while you get set up, but it gets cheaper once you find a juice or two that you like. That is, as long as you don't catch shinyitis and start buying lots of fancy vaping gear (no harm in having a little!) - I speak from experience

Eurgh - it's really come out today, I can't taste anything except a slight cooling with red astaire.
As an experiment, I've just stuck some USA mix in my dripper - I don't normally touch tobaccos, and bought this by mistake a couple of months ago - I can't taste it at all. I do get a mighty throat hit, but that's probably the fact that dekang juices are PG-tastic.
On the plus side, I can finish up all of those juices I don't like now!

Thank you for you replies and the welcome, didn't expect them so quickly! I am worried that the non tobacco flavours will not do it for me, especially at the beginning. Skyjay, am not sure what tobacco flavour to get, something like Golden Virginia....anything you could suggest? I am looking forward to not standing outside my home in the cold and the rain! I completely understand the want for a familiar flavour. Having said I won't advise on tobacco, a few thoughts are below in case they are useful In my experience the golden virginia style juices can be a little sickly sweet (coming from someone who likes sweet juices) - they smell right, but they taste a little like unburnt tobacco, if that makes sense! however, a few places do a juice called golden rollie that you could try. Maybe get a darker flavour as well, like a USA mix (like Marlboro apparently) that has a real savoury tobacco flavour as well. And get a little bottle of something fruity that you like, just to see what it tastes like - a strawberry or something, just to experience it. if you're getting the myepack starter kit, they also do dekang juice which isn't great but is perfectly acceptable, and comes in various tobacco and fruit flavours.

Welcome to AAEC - an ego will do you fine to start with. Never fear, we love helping you buy the right equipment for you - mainly because we've spent all of our own money already on shiny new things

Hello wabbitwabbit and welcome - good choice of starter kit. I dont vape tobacco flavoured juice so I'll let others advise on that, but what I will say is that it is very difficult to recreate the taste of burning tobacco well. It will be similar, but not exactly the same. As as for strength, I'd go with either 24mg or 18mg to start with, and reduce when you're ready to. This could be weeks, it could be months - don't worry about it, you'll do it when you're ready. Don't worry about PG/VG levels to start with (that's the ratio of ingredients in the juice), but if you find yourself with a choice go for something with a little more PG as that will help recreate that throat hit from smoking.
I was a roll-up smoker and I said exactly the same as you when I started vaping, I only wanted tobacco flavours. My taste buds soon changed, and now I vape deserts and fruit pretty much exclusively. The same might happen to you, so stick to small bottles of juice until you work out what you like - and what you like now might not be the same as what you want in a months time. Good luck - you're going to love it.

As Pepperty says, jack the ripple has a harsh edge to it after a short while. I quite like it, but it's not the sweet juice it is after a week. I've got a 30ml premixed bottle that I'm very slowly working through, and it's not as nice as it once was. Leave the custard as long as you can - it's really underwhelming at first, but after a month it's very nice, and much much darker.

It's a good feeling what method did you use? Silica, or cotton/microcoil?

Thanks tominmids - I've gone with my calculations above, once I checked them through the mix calc. So the final mix is: 13ml nic at 54mg 2.67ml PG 16ml VG 8ml flavour Giving me just shy of 40ml at just shy of 18mg. Panic averted, unless I've missed something - which is entirely possible, my rational head has returned but I'm way out of my depth here!

Ok, think this works - add 2.67ml PG 6ml VG 2ml flavour
And I'll have 40ml of 18mg 60/40 strawberri. And I'll love it, even with the niccups!
Sound right?

Thanks @freefromsmoking - but i was planning a 12mg mix, so I've added 5.33ml too much nic, my recipe above was wrong. So I'd need to add another 80% of the other ingredients to make it 12mg, and I don't have enough flavouring.
Measure twice, cut once and all that...
so I have 3ml of flavouring left. Just doing the maths for checking...
