Whilst there ARE differences between the "battery holder" bit of devices due to resistance/materials used etc, my view is that these variations are neglible and vapour is function of voltage/atomiser/juice.
I did a "blind test" where I set up a Screwdriver, Super T and Fistpack with the same juice and atties (LR901) (with fresh batteries and fistpack set to around 4.1/4.2 volts). Just drawing on them "blind" (without touching the devices) I couldn't in all honesty tell the difference...

Yes but they are noobs searching for that ciggie taste. In a few months they'll soon change their minds. Or most will anyway. No at all - they are "old timers" - each to their own it seems

Ironically, there is a thread on the LF forum where people are complaining that they can't get the ashtray taste they want

There are some cowboy operators in China who rip off other more reputable makers - I would be suspicious of completely unmarked atties (but wouldn't rule them out either). You can see in my blogs that mainstream stuff is almost always marked.
I've used a wide range of 901 threaded stuff over the years and not had anything that didn't screw onto an SD (trog's threads are bog standard 901/4075 threads) - so I'd be iffy about buying EM stuff again myself.

They are all (with the except of specialist stuff like Bulli A2s) made in China. If you are interested in "901" atties see this: ukvapers.com/blog/9/entry-22-about-mini-atomisers-and-carts/Atties are "mainly" made by Sailebo (SLB/DSE), First Union (RN), Best eCig (BE) I think the best current "901" atties are the SLB/DSE ones like LF sell (for both regular and LR)

The yellow spiderfires from Kaidomain are protected batteries, the purple spiderfires are unprotected (that doesn't bother me though). Because of the added protection, the yellow ones are slightly longer (not found that a problem) and can be a bit lopsided (I've not had a problem but it could be if the mis-shapeness was extreme).
I've found the yellow ones last really well and do seem to be a higher mah than the purple ones (I take no notice of what's claimed - I work on experience)

What atties do the drip shields fit? I've explained this in my review Lee - see my link in the post above

Blue, i bought it when Trog had the 2for1 offer...a number of us bought them then, i think most of those had a problem with them, i know Lolli, who got the other one when i bought them, did.... I just wrote it off as a not so good mod, tbh... but, as you say, it might be interesting to see what Trog makes of it...i wouldn't sell it on now, not after Christophe on UKV said it wasn't like the last markI he had, and just didn't work well... lilac, at that time it would have been different from the last MK1 Christophe had because the BOGOF offer was around the time the Mk2 changed to the Mk2 style switch. All Mk1s since then have that switch and I've not come across lots of people having problems. There are a few possible reasons, but I'd urge you to send it trog to let him have a look. I have seven Mk1 SDS (!) and they have all been absolutely fine.

Unless there has been a very bad batch of Mk2 SDs, I thhink you need to look at other things.
Are you using the standard Mk2 batteries and have you checked your batteries have no splits etc in the plastic cover?
Unless the spring in the atomiser half has collapsed or there has been a short, there should be nothing to stop it working (assuming the switch as clean and you have checked the hole and coating as Camperman suggests).
What atties are you using and where did they come from? Have you used the atties on a different device? (That could mean the atty centre has squashed a bit and is not making contact?)
Whilst the Mk2 is not IMHO as well finished as the Mk1, they are still reliable and I've not come across someone having problems with successive copies like this before...

I must also say that I've never had anything but very good service from every supplier I've dealt with.

An LR 808D-1 cartomiser is basically a 901 cartomiser (same threads). (But some 901 devices need to adapter because of airflow, most don't)
