Well, I have spent the last couple of days trying to reiwick and coil my frankentanks (stardust innards). The problem I was having was making a half decent coil. I've had ones that were too tight, ones that were too loose and ones on which only one or two of the turns glowed due to poor winding. After digging around in my PC bit box, I found this: It looks like a motherboard standoff, but is actually the receptor post for an old style VGA/Serial/Parallel port connector - the kind that fixes on with the thumbscrews. Actually these posts usually unscrew themselves from the back of the pc when you try and unscrew whatever it was. I don't know the proper name :0 It's about 2.5mm diameter, and has a fine pitched thread and is great for winding coils.

How are you etching them? Would it work with stainless?

Now there is an idea Dom I'd definitely buy one if you could make it. Some enamelling would be nice too

I think it may be a Bank Holiday in the US, could that be the reason?

The last few days I've been enjoying Freedom Vape Cuban Supreme with a dash of Green Apple. Very refreshing.

Has the slippage blocked off the hole you punched?

Hmm, I love it. waiting for a hour or two too cool off, then I'll pop out to the shops and take a long evening constitutional walk along the canal.

Found a packet of Red Leicester that had worked its way to the back of the fridge the other day. Use by date was 20th Feb. The pack was still sealed, and it wasn't mouldy, so before binning it, I thought I'd just give it a try. Wow, it really had matured and tasted lovely. I've been eating big lumps of it today and yesterday, and have no ill effects - just goes to show use by dates don't mean instant death (mind you don't do this with fresh/cooked meats etc) Just thought I'd share :0

They are only a couple of quid from LF - best get a few to make it worth the postage.

You may have a short. When you connect the board to the battery only (not connected to atty) it should flash a couple or three times. Pushing the switch will cause it to light.
Chances are you have a short in the atty (possibly the grommet is gone), so best to desolder that, check the board is OK and locate where the fault is in the atty wiring.

It's not smoking cessation, it's tobacco cessation. (I should trademark that one ).

Get a cheap pair of pliers (e.g. from Poundland), wrap some insulating tape around the jaws, wrap some double sided tape (both available in Poundland) over that, then grip and unscrew.
