I'm still in 2 minds robby. I do like the format for an 80 Watt box especially at that price point. However I feel that although Smok have dropped the ball on the TC front they may bring out a working version in the near future. Do I buy now and to hell with it? Or do I hold on in the hope of a redesign/hardware fix? You never know, I may just drop lucky and get one of the rare 'Golden Sample' workers, like my M65.  Shopping Ying says now, brain Yang says wait  Where would the current owners of faulty units stand if Smok was to release a reliable working version? |

I used to wind mine anticlockwise sydsut. but since getting the SquapeR (any owner will tell you) I've switched to clockwise so the coil sits low in the airflow and I can have a dead straight wick and V short legs. |

Samsung 25R is only 20Amp continuous.
Those Pannies are only 3.4Amp continuous so on a regulated mod they're safe to 8.5Watts. Also they're unprotected ICR, so will flame if they vent.
More and more peeps seem to be sailing very close to the wind.

I'm sure this'll be moved if it's in the wrong area. When I first started soldering I discovered Solder Paste. It's a powder solder mixed with flux, and comes in either a tub (apply with a screwdriver), or in a convenient syringe. No tinning needed, just apply the paste to the join and hit it with the iron. Really handy if you don't have the steadiest of hands. A couple of ebay examples: In a syringe
In a tubI found it a lot easier to learn with this then move to the more traditional solder, and I still use it on occasion today  |

Every time I rewick I just rinse under a warm tap, dry and use. Once a month I give them an ultrasound bath with a little lemon juice - it reaches the parts you can't see without having to completely disassemble.
