No Boardwalk Empire fans here <waves> Love it. Especially the slow transformation of Nucky Thompson from amiable, easy-going simple everyday corrupt politician to ruthless gangster. Reminds me of someone, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

I have looked into the engine block heaters for to celica's and they are built as standard with the port already there for the "canadian market's". Looks pretty easy to install and yup I do use the car from cold starts all the time at the moment a fair few times a day. That's handy. My old Toyota diesel didn't have it, but it was never sold in Arctic regions. I ended up buying a by-pass heater which never got fitted in the end.

Nope. I don't do 'modern'. The only thing I had related to that was a vacuum gauge, back in carburettor days. It did work though; and really illustrated how much I could back off the throttle while maintaining the same forward speed, a habit that's stuck with me for years. Block heaters are worthwhile, too. If your daily pattern involves really cold starts it can help, and will cost a minimal amount to run. I take it you'd be installing it yourself? As for tyres; there's Michelin Eco, which claim to enhance mpg, but I'm not too sure how grippy they are. Might be a step backwards.

It's not like he's even 'exploring' unknown ground. It's all been done before. His time was truly in the mid to late 19th Century, when parts of the world were unknown the the Western /Europeans, although the locals seemed to know all about the places, so one could argue they weren't unknown at all.

Ditto that on the new-builds. While not a builder, I've been up more new-build attics in the past decade than I can remember and I'm not impressed by the drop in quality that became normal even on higher-end houses. Where there used to be 12mm plasterboard, you'll find 10mm, where the roof trusses were 16" apart, now they're more like 2ft, and made of relatively thin timber. Copper pipe that's thinner than it used to be, plastic pipe used instead and the cheapest at that (some plastic pipe is good quality, not the stuff I saw) - corners cut at every opportunity and houses slung up by ignorant turds who really didn't give a stuff about the quality of their workmanship.

It's sunday afternoon and i'm watching Die Hard, I know right? Do you think the original film is always better than the sequels? Often, yes. They never made a "Titfield Thunderbolt 2 : Time for Revenge", did they? Also, do you agree that Die Hard is possibly the best action film ever made as I do. Die Hard Mk1 was fine, the rest were pushing it to where suspension of disbelief wasn't just suspended, it was taking a holiday in the Carribean. Alien 1, the same - the rest of the Aliens were just mince. Predator, ditto. Terminators managed to keep it up for three, but T. Salvation sucked eggs through a straw - weary, old script, rehashed through a blender, yet still comes out the same.

The feeling of accomplishment at a job well done, against the odds. Like today - assembling a piece of cheap crap flat-pack chest of drawers with extra glue and bracing to make it feel like it's not a piece of crap.
Oh, and sniffing bicycle saddles down the ladies' college - them security Amazons are quick on their feet, I can tell you.

Had me wondering there, for a minute. I couldn't see a seal, but I bought mine mid-January, so was on the cusp of new/older stock, I suppose. Anyway, putting the serial number into the xtar site brought up confirmation of its validity. I thought, if this was a fake, it was a bloody good one www.xtarlight.com/en/10-services/p-001.asp?id=13

Makes you a vaping whore. I like the sound of that; I'm in. I also came across mention of the BT804, another bottom-filler, which is getting good reviews, but it's twice the price of this one. Heaven's Gift have the Vapeonly one for 11.50 usd. Don't know what their shipping cost is, though.

I suppose it depends on what particular chemical properties are in the flavourings. I routinely get a nice mint choc ice flavour using a few drops of well-diluted menthol in a chocolate juice (both Dekang). Perhaps if my menthol or chocolate came from different sources it wouldn't be as consistent.

No it's an independent, I wouldn't go to a chain tyre place any more. Is it even possible to balance an oval shaped wheel? If you have balance weights that are so huge they swing around and lift the wheel off the tarmac when the low point is at the bottom, yes.

Speaking of which. I had a 306 drip tip and I lost the bloody thing. I've looked under my bed and everything, it's nowhere to be found! :-S I'm a messy bugger. Down the back of the sofa.
