perhaps not the usual burnt taste question. I have an SXK kayfun v5 and everything tastes singed, almost as if it has a hot coil leg.
I've tried spaced and contact coils, SS, nichrome, kanthal and several different wicking materials.
I've run it through the ultrasonic several times, used new tips, replaced all of the seals, insulators, even put a new positive post on it. And still it tastes like something is burnt.
Any ideas? Cheers

Currently using Koh Gen Do in tanks and Cotton Bacon in drippers. I have a couple of bags each of muji and puff but can't get past the breaking in.

Thanks so far for all the advice. I still can't understand why the manufactures don't load the complete package for the mods, if there putting dna's boards in them. Would be real nice if we could start a thread on a list of manufactures mods settings for dna 60/75/200/250 all in one place Wismec did a full profile for the Rolo but lord only knows how they got the case cooling figures. Internal resistance for pretty much all DNAs will be slightly different from 0.004 to 0.01?, there are some good 18650 profiles available on the Evolve forum and here..... dna200.de , I assume as they are for 3x18650 the wismec discharge profiles will be the same.

I don't get anything but ? on two mods, not even a flash of resistance. Important....don't know... the two I use solely with TC with I've managed to get readings. I'm sure that you are a perfectionist? I'm more slap-dash and buggrit if it works ok. But I just find it niggles when something doesn't quite work as it did after an update. Broken record comes to mind

VapingBad I now have all four running on SP5 and have IR for two mods, which is more than I had an hour ago. The other two must be under 0.004 then. When I loaded SP2 none of them would register, I reset them to the reading from when they were new and left it at that. edit.. I tried resetting to pre SP and whatever changes it made seem to be set for good. I would have happilly gone back to V1.0.29 or whatever it was had I known that the SP updates were going to make permanent changes to the firmware.

You don't need to run case analyser to get the internal resistance. Basically you need to make a dead short and use atomiser analyser it will give a reading of 0.00? First set the mods internal resistance to zero before trying to take a reading.....oh and don't fire the mod I wouldn't swear to it but since the latest service pack updates my DNAs won't read the internal resistance with the copper tool. So you may not actually need to?? VapingBad ??

I'd be tempted to say that 'own brands' may be from a similar source. There are only so many flavour houses to get concentrates from.

flavours respond to different temperatures, I have a preference for the warmer notes with vanilla. It's how some of the complicated recipes get depths of different flavour.
'Sub-ohm' or not: is of no consequence with a regulated mod, it's more the application of watts and how fast the coil heats up. I have a 0.3ohm SS coil in my sxk V5, 14-17w all day, whilst my Aeronaut has a 0.5 ohm coil that doesn't wake up until it gets 60w. I wouldn't put 60w through the 0.3ohm in the kayfum. Factory coils are made to perform in a set way so they loose flavour in return for a few more clouds. Well worth biting the bullet on a good rta and tailoring the coils to what you want.

I tried a homemade PB & jelly recipe, it tastes bang on but vape too much and everything tastes off afterwards. Interesting I'm thinking I might not have cleaned the tank out good enough as it had Blackcurrant Cheesecake in before. Have you got that PB and jelly recipe please? I've had look and I didn't save it to the juice calculator. It's been over a year so to say where I got it from: either on a reddit thread or eliquid recipes. Couldn't get on with peanut butter custard or peanut butter, banana and strawberry. There is a PB & Jesus recipe here www.lediypourlesnuls.com/charlies-chalk-dust-peanut-butter-jesus/

umm.. what is it with the '200 watt' dual 18650 mods that are coming onto?
Even before VapingBad posted his findings on battery demands for the Alien I was of understanding that 135w was about the limit for output.
Personally I wouldn't touch one with a bargepole before they have been on the market for a while. The evic mini was definitely a work in progress and I'd wait for the V2 and whole run of firmware updates that are supposed to iron out it's issues.

I tried celucotton last year, it was a refreshing change to organic cotton. Some juices seemed to taste better, tank wicks seemed to last longer. I didn't like it in drippers, no matter how they were wicked it was quite crackly and just didn't seem to be giving the same flavour as cotton. Also I didn't like the amount of loose fibre that came off it when it was cut. At the time I was quite taken by rayon and would have brought more but there was almost nowhere to buy it from in more than one meter lengths. I get mine from a guy on Ebay here in 3mtr lengths would that have been the same one you have posted a link to before? I think it was July/August last year and quite literally there was none available anywhere, even CdV had gone on holiday.

I thought I had a good buy on the rayon - I ordered cellucotton - only to get it and realise it wasn't rayon but just normal cotton - so when ordering Cellucotton rayon make sure you order the right stuff my favourite for cheapest is cotton wool balls unravelled - cheap as chips, get anywhere! yes, there tends to be plenty of cellucotton cotton for sale, I thought I'd found a bargain and only just avoided buying kilos of the stuff.
