Ah don't feel bad. Part of the problems is newbie nerves I think + I'm a perfectionist, so I tend to set myself up for a fall.
Where is the next best place to buy juice from in case James' parcel has been lost in the post?
Also, if I'm changing flavour, is it best to change atomiser at the same time?

Hissie, I'm not certain, but I think the ones Jaki has sent you are most likely from ENjuice. Never bought from them myself, but a lot of people on here have & like their juices. www.enjuice.co.uk/magento/default/Oops, lucks like they are also on holiday at the moment. OKsmokey's juices are also good : - www.oksmokey.com/index.phpAs for changing the atomiser when cjanging flavours, I don't bother (unless it's a very different strong flavour).

Thanks Chrissie. I'll check those sites out. Looks like Jaki has sent a sample of James' Drum & 2 from totally wicked. I have also sent an email to LF regarding the battery/charger issues. Hopefully I'll get a reply soon. Think I'll start looking to stock up on spares

I'm mainly looking to buy the sample sizes so I can work out what flavours I prefer.
Jaki sent me a 36mg sample, but I think it'll be too strong. How do I weaken it? I have no spare bottles at the moment to mix it in tho'.

Can't think at the moment, who else has sample sizes
You can weaken (cut) the 36mg with glycerine, though it will also weaken the flavour. You can buy small bottles of glycerine for about 50p from most supermarkets - in the baking section, next to food flavourings. Or a larger bottle from a chemist for about £1.20.

Talking about atties, I said a week or so ago, that I cahnged to one of the ones I bought from TW, a five pack of 510's. I hate the bloody things! The ones that came with the Riva are/were fine. But I've had terrible problems with the TW ones. The gunk they put on them tastes like nothing on earth and puts me off vaping. Yesterday evening I was nearly ready for throwing the whole thing in the bin! I blew the last attie out, there is so much stuff in there, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get enough vapour, taste or hit. I flooded the darn things, then had them too dry.....it just went on and on. I swapped carts, but clean fluval in, put blue stuff in, swapped atties, etc. It pains me to say it but I had 3 normal cigs. (Over the course of the evening, and would have been more like 20 in the old days.) The atties with the Riva are normal ones, the TW are normal. My order from Eastmall is for LR ones. I really think I need these, because of how much I used to smoke and the hit I need. The other weird thing is that anything I had past my lips last night tasted awful and weird and my mouth had an awful taste in it. Whatever the gunk is, didn't agree with me, and left I couldn't even taste the normal cigs. Whether it's my taste buds changing or the gunk ( I go for the gunk) I don't really know. My vaping is back to normal today, so sleeping and leaving my mouth alone seems to have helped. I get really frustrated when it's not going right. I have so many carts and atties next to me on a piece of kitchen roll, I don't know where I am, which is an old attie, which is new.... I think I worked out how to tell when they die though....it's an awful burnt taste? I got even more frustrated when my mouse (I use a Logitech Trackball big thing) died and I couldn't do anything properly, hence no postings yesterday! Then I tried to get onto Eastmall website and couldn't, the site didn't exist. I was thinking they'd buggered off with all our money! I ended up watching TV and . Seems Estmall was down for a re-design. My new replacement mouse arrived, and I'm vaping away! Phew! Kath

Sorry, should have explained. The RY4 is 36mg from Paradisevape, it's just that the only spare bottles I have are from TW
The Cafe Brasiliano is 18mg from TW.
The Drum is what it is marked as
I wanted to send you a selection of strengths and flavours so you had a chance to experiment.
I find with the higher juice, I vape less often - I get my nicotine levels up higher more quickly. I used to smoke Marlboro lights and I now use 32 or 36mg liquid. Don't write off the 36mg just yet!
Profbeard was explaining on another forum this morning about using stronger liquids "It is common for people to start off "too weak" (usually because they smoked "lights") because vaping and smoking is different..."
Regarding juice, most of mine are from Enjuice. I probably have around 35 of their juices now and love almost all of them because they are strong and distinctive flavours. I believe Mark is back from his holidays in the next couple of days and his orders always arrive next day (for me) Use UKVapers to get 5% off.
I find TW liquids a bit too sweet and cloying, although the flavours are strong. That said, I have not tried their tobacco, just coffee, fruit and sweet juices.
OKSmokey had some good clearance deals last time I looked and I believe his postage is free as well. He does a multi pack with 5 x 10ml bottles for just over £21 with a good range of flavours to choose from. That is pretty good value for money
Liberty flights sell 5ml bottles in all their flavours. With the discount code ECR69 they work out at just over £2.50 each

Thanks Jaki. I'll try the 36mg in the morning and report back Just wondering what the best way to vape from a Riva is. Obviously, I'm using it as I think, but I want to get the best out of it. I'm also hoping LF reply to my email tomorrow, if they don't, should I telephone them again?

Kath, Your little story of yesterday rang so many bells for me , and I suspect many others, we all get or have had days like that, it's not nice, but, really, those days do become less frequent as you gain more experience in solving the various issues from time to time. You mention the 'awful burnt taste'. If it's not the atty being too dry, then it could be a bit of loose fibre from your cart filler attaching itself to the atty, and its burning as you activate your E-cig. To get rid of it, you need to first blow the atty out completely. Then rinse under hot water and leave to dry - about 30 minutes. Then, attach the atty back onto the riva without cart. Then, blow into the atty while activating Riva (careful you don't burn lips, can get hot). Do this for 10 seconds. Get your breath back, tehn repeat process again - (blow into atty/press button 10 secs). Then one more time, so 3 x 10 second bursts in total while blowing into the atty. Then, drip 3 drops of E-liquid onto the atty, pop on your cart and vape. I've done this on many occasions, and it's solved that nasty burnt taste.

My instinct is that the burnt taste is a sign of the atty being too dry rather than dead So Bucko's rigmarole may well be worth it scylla

So sorry to hear you had such a bad day (((Kath))) Agrees with Bucko & Scylla, keep your atties moist (especially when you get the LR ones) & also keep your threads clean & dry. ie where the attie screws into the battery. Hisie, I'm going to have to leave it up to others to help you with the Riva as I've never used one myself. Do hope you hear from LF soon though.

Vaping is different to smoking in the draw. With smoking, you can literally have a quick puff, but as the atomiser needs to warm up, vaping must be slower.
It is best to press the button just a second or so before you inhale (which starts the atty up), then take a low and slow draw. The thing that always reminds me just how long, is remembering people complaining that one of the devices had a cut off time of 10 seconds! I can only draw for about 4 or 5 and that's if I am trying hard!
I don't think there is anything specific to the Riva that you can do - it's just generally getting used to vaping I guess.

I'm also hoping LF reply to my email tomorrow, if they don't, should I telephone them again? Hissie I'm finding that I get the best vapes by hitting the button about 3 seconds before I take a vape, I then start to draw and let the button off. I'm finding this way I'm getting fuller vapes with tons of flavour. It's taken me 3 weeks to find out how best to get what I want from my vape, let's face it, it's the same as smoking, we all want something different whether it be brand, strength for amount we smoke. I'm finding I'm really getting to know my Riva and how to get the best out of it for me now. Good luck, keep experimenting with how much juice you use, how long you heat before drawing, how long you draw. You'll soon find your own unique method for satisfaction.

I am a button-hogger but I've never destroyed an atty by holding the button too long, so don't be afraid to hold down the button before you drag, as described by our colleagues above Of course you will use up battery faster, but that only means slightly more frequent charging. scylla
