Wow, looks like you are in the "sticks" ? Yes and no, Chrissie. This used to be a rural area, but now is rapidly becoming a suburb. I own a little less than an acre, of mostly wooded land, (inherited from my parents). Behind my property is a marsh area that runs about 1/2 mile. My home is located in between two dead end streets. "Civilization" is not far away from me, but far enough, that I can enjoy some "wilderness". lol. The best way I can describe it to you, is to insert an aerial photo. My home and garage are the two buildings in the center of the picture. The main highway is at the far left.

Scylla, I worked in a bank too, until I was forced into an early retirement, due to panic (anxiety) attacks. Fortunately, over the years, I have learned to control them and now they are more of a minor nuisance than a major problem.
Chrissie, I am making a note: "gobsmacked". lol. I had a bit of fun on the ECF the other night, when I told an American friend, to not be a "misery gut". We have a lot of fun on the "Where's j0ker thread" and everyone is welcome to join us.
Hanow, in the summer months, the house is barely visible from the streets. To a passer by, it just looks like a patch of woods. It's nice, but not so much in the Autumn, when I have to rake the fallen leaves.

Lol Jerry, "gobsmacked" sort of means astounded I've had to try & work out what the "facepalm" is all about? I've seen the smiley but not really come across the saying before.

Chrissie, "facepalm" or hand over face, can mean embarrassment, frustration, confusion. Kind of a "I don't believe what just happened" or "what I just said", or "what you just said" or "I feel stupid right now", feeling.
