Apparently it's still going on Beeper. Chrissie thinks that she got infected, two days ago.

It's been said that it is safe to go back into the water but I've not yet double-checked this evening.

I ran the Secunia, Scyl. I had to update three programs, but now I'm up to date.

I have used f-secure (last year's winner) since 2005. I pay around £26 a year to cover 3 pcs for a year (50p a week) and have never had any problems. It has caught and killed stuff other software hasn't even spotted - and picked up an earlier version of the ebay bug - which came off photobucket about a year ago - and zapped it in front of my eyes!! Basically it shut my whole pc down in a split second - flashed to the blue screen of death - rebooted me and gave me a message to tell me it had caught the little varmint!! Over the last week, because of the ebay thing - I have run a couple of other things just to check up - and they have found nothing at all. The only thing that puzzles me about f-secure is that so few people have heard of it or use it.

Is this still ongoing with Ebay? I made the mistake last night of logging onto a selling account ( fortunately I'm not selling anything atm ) and almost immediately Avira flashed up a warning. It's continued this morning, Avira has dealt with all the nasties so far, but is there a scan I can run to rid my lappy of anything nasty that may be lurking . . . I had a quick look at Stopzilla, but didn't want to download anything that could make things worse without first checking. I know zilch about this stuff.

www.malwarebytes.org/The free version is what Grumps recommends. I would ask on eBay boards if anyone else has had the problem. I'll have a look around. If it happens again, maybe try to get a screenshot? {{{Perpy}}} scylla x
