Well I've only been vaping for about a month, after the crappy kingo died (fair play to ok smokey they gave me my money back with no problems)
I've already bought a vamo, batteries, charger etc, mini vivi nova, big metal tank nova, couple of juicy vapors juice (ecto plasma and dragon blood) 3 x 10 ml bottles of juice from the alchemists cupboard...(rhubarb and custard, lemon meringue and lemon and lime)
Now I've just bought an iclear 30 a couple of spare heads and some triphammer toffee apple juice from vape escape.... oh and I've joined a co op buy...
Slightly overkill for a newbie I think? From now on I think I'll stick to a few juices if I can find a good all day vape....
I do have a question. .. my big nova tank has lost quite a bit of flavour lately, like sometimes I get good flavour but half the time it doesn't really taste of much at all, how often should I change the head?

It's more fun though than buying tobacco Arrow. With regards to the head, as you've found, when the flavour drops off is a good indication, if it hasn't gone pop . . . and it helps for me to switch about with flavours, so my taste buds don't get to tuned in to any one.

Hi arrowmunda Now how you feel. When I first started off got a ego twist and itaste MVP and other bit's and bobs but it does calm down and it does workout cheaper in the end I clean out all my Novas after two fills. Helps to reduce the build up on the heads. I also think it helps with the no smoking part with having something to do when the taste starts to go is when to change and clean your heads

Arrowmunda, Same here there always seems to be a new model worth trying, (ask Robby ;-)) but i am having the same problem with the vivi nova, tried rebuilding after the 1.8 went pop with 0.2 canthal 2/3/4 strands of 1.5 mm silica wick in various combinations but can never get the same flavour or vapour i did with the original 1.8 head. The 2.4 head does'nt work either just weak vapour & flavour maybe someone here can tell us where we are going wrong, by the way still on my ego 900mah battery until the vamo arrives.

The 2.4 head does'nt work either just weak vapour & flavour maybe someone here can tell us where we are going wrong, by the way still on my ego 900mah battery until the vamo arrives. That's the reason. The 2.4 head burns cooler than the 1.8 so the flavour is more muted. With the Vamo you'll be able to up the power to compensate

At least you can see what you have spent your money on, most of it will last a long time. With the stinkies you only had a pile of ash and dog ends to look at:)

It`s about whatever wets your wick really :-) It`s a hobby for me, never was about money really. However, I spent about £7 a day on the fags. I certainly dont spend that now. I do buy a lot of bits and pieces, but it doesnt come to £50 a week. I would be perfectly happy with just a Vamo and a Vivi Nova clone from a vaping point of view, but being technically minded I really enjoy all the other different aspects of vaping. The most important thing doesnt really relate to money at all, my health is much better and I am not poisoning myself 20 times a day by sticking a paper tube (filled with dried leaves) in my mouth, and then setting fire to it while I suck it As for flavour, I think it happens to all of us. I just swap around a bit and maybe suck a few mints. For me the changing of coils and Nova heads doesnt last very long taste wise. I tend to just change them when they pop.

I only rewick my nova heads when they stop working or get burnt. How often do you wash them out?
When I stop tasting something I pick up another flavour, which usually works, though sometimes nothing tastes much.
Took me over 4 months to break even, but I'm no Ninja - just Vamo, box mod, LT, spinner, dozen or so novas and attys. Also I mix my own so I spend less on the juice, and when I get the itch to spend, a new flavour is a lot cheaper than a new shiny.
And Oneday is right Denis - no reason why rewicking wouldn't bring the flavour back unless you are getting less power through the juice. The Vamo should fix it. Better still do a dual coil (I did it the easy way by getting dual coil heads, but someone clever - probably robby - has a thread on how to do it on an ordinary head).

I`m a lazy &^%&^*& lol. I dont make my own coils, I buy them pre made (about 20p each), they last for weeks if not longer. A weekly wash out and a few dry burn brings them back everytime. The pre made ones are usually very well spaced out on the wick as well. I double coil my Novas when the original one pops, so you need "tidy" coils there, there isnt a lot of space. The Novas perform so much better when you double coil them, so much more vapour and flavour, I double coil the phoenix as well. When I am in the house, I rarely bother with anything else. The Phoenix I use and have used for about 4 months now cost less than £4 shipped from China. I have never been one to spend money on atties that are very basic devices, especially drippers like the Phoenix. I simply couldnt justify spending sometimes 20 times the cost of a Phoenix on something that will perform just the same, it`s just a coil on a wick suspended above a container of liquid with a battery connected to it to make it get hot enough to vaporise the liquid. "When I stop tasting something I pick up another flavour, which usually works, though sometimes nothing tastes much.", yep me too giles. No matter what I do sometimes, the taste buds just wont play along lol. That`s when I get the menthol out. Quite often, that will shock the taste buds into submission lol.

I am spending about the same on Vapegear as I was on smoking, and TRY to limit myself to that. I have been vaping since mid January, don't count the SkyCigs, and have been mixing my own basic juice to fill in gaps between shop bought, it helps to keep the cost down.
I made a thread about dual coiling, done in a nova head, and it really improves the hit/flavour. To date I haven't found anything that can compete to what I am getting from that setup.
For the price of the premade coils from VB, mine get 1 wash n rince, then I rebuild them. I hate muted flavour so might be going overboard, but if the coil looks gunky it's bin time.

At todays prices, I'd be spending about £18-£21 a day on real cigs I roughly spend about £10-£12 a week on vaping.
