Stock up on nic base and start mixin. At a rate of a little less than 3ml a day (which most vapers dont really get close to), 2 litres is going to last you 2 years . At least you are covered, whatever happens. If you decide to reduce your dependance on nicotine relatively painlessly (as I would probably do), it will last you twice as long and more by gradually adding pg/vg to it. Just get yourself covered at very little cost

You can buy SNUS here from Sweden, just not import it to sell. Same as Nicotine in Austrailia. Import it for yourself, just not sell it. True womble my wording was sloppy. My point was that the fact that a law is stupid doesn't stop them passing it. You can indeed buy snus here, but as I understand it, it is illegal to do so, it is illegal for Swedish companies to sell it to you, but there are countries where it is legal to sell it to you (or their police don't care), so they buy from Sweden and you import it from them; there are so few snus users here that nobody can be bothered to try to enforce the EU rule. It isn't like Denmark, where it is illegal to sell ecigs, but legal to import ecigs from an EU country, and legal in the UK to export it to Denmark. And as I understand it, it is illegal to buy nic in Australia, if their customs notice you importing it then they will confiscate it, but as far as I know nobody has been prosecuted for trying to import it. I don't think there is law against possession, although I suppose they could prosecute for possession with intent to sell if they had some evidence and some police force cared enough. I don't know whether our customs would look very hard for nic that was intended for personal use, but I doubt it. But if the EU does ban it then it increases the risk of other countries also banning it, and increases the chance of China (and other countries) being persuaded to stop exports to countries where it is banned. Also, all of our UK and EU suppliers would go out of business and you wouldn't be able to import from the US.

If they do increase the tax like djs seems to suggest, that would make a mockery of the reason for putting tax on tobacco products. To get people to stop buying them, like they want to with crisps. But if its a medicinal product, then it can only have the same as other medicinal products and NRT's. There wont be an increase of tax towards nic base, but the increased cost of producing it (getting certificates) will naturally put the prices up.

To be fair Tax hikes on ecigs are not the hurdle we are facing right now.
If the EU get their way then all juices above 4mg will have to under go rigorous testing to receive a MA. This costs millions of pounds per juice, flavour, strength etc etc. The price of a bottle of juice would be so high that the tax on it will be the last of our worries.
Not saying tax hikes are not a legitimate concern, just they are not an immediate concern right now. The EU TPD revisions are.

Apparently (and don't quote me on this) you can legally buy snus from the USA, but as you say, not within the EU anymore. So I'm guessing from that, the EU may do the same for ecigs, or try to. None within the EU, so that's our homegrown sellers at a massive disadvantage, if not the end for most.

Is this all likely to happen in the next few months? Or more like a few years

Unfortunately the Euro is a corollary of mindless ideology but it still exists, held up by strings pulled by unelected burocrats.
The EU like all forms of soft social dictatorship wants to control everything - just for the sake of it and regardless of the costs.
I doubt if any UK Govt would independently legislate against a possible prevention for Lung Cancer, having supported Nicotine patches etc etc.
Brussels however rules us and we must obey - at the moment...

That sounds very UKIP to me doc? In fact I have had 2 replies from UKIP MEP's following a very similar turn of phrase. Don't get me wrong, I would have voted UKIP in the election, but here is a Conservative strong hold, so didnt bother voting.
