What we have to deal with

So I was talking to my neighbour today, he's a very well educated bloke and I say this, as he isn't the sort of guy to jump on the nearest bandwagon.

He walks into a pub and orders a meal, he is disgusted by a person sitting at the bar vaping a ecig. He says that he hates the fact that the person is flouting the law by vaping.

He thinks that the person is flouting the law and pushing it as far as he can.

He has heard today on the radio that ecigs may not be safe and they may have found that they have risks.

What risks may they have to him and his friends?

But he is educated to a level far beyond me and probably you. That isn't the answer.

Yes, I've done it for ages in front of him. He hasn't been bothered.
And I've explained e-cigs until I'm blue in the face!

But to him, walking into a pub serving food is beyond his comfort zone.

He just doesn't like it, I've tried to tell him all the usual stuff, but it just doesn't work.

How does he compare them to real tobacco ?

Did he spend the whole of his life complaining about Cigs ? . . . Maybe he's annoyed you found something safer so he cant look at you is disgust anymore

He does, it's fair to say, not wonder why we don't just quit. He quit in the 1970's and can't work out why we can't do the same.

I'm really good friends with the guy and I still can't make him understand.

In a way I agree with him, i'd also prefer not to have vaping all around in a restaurant. As for pubs I don't think they should serve food so that's a different matter. I don't think people should be eating food around me while I'm trying to enjoy a good drink..

Who knows what they will find with ecigs.

Yeah he does and yeah, he does

But he still holds a view that needs to be diagnosed. We can't go on thinking the world is with us, we need to understand the opposition and they are middle England. The Daily Mail readership etc.

They (tobacco companies + governments) knew of problems a long time, many years but covered it up and actually added more drugs to the tobacco all to keep their profits booming. I am pretty sure e-cigs are not the same right now.
