as I wrote - torch bought - here and oh yes have loads of coils to experiment with - am sure will be able to do it - just needed to get to the bottom of things - and thanks to the abundant help here - I hope I did Pepperty - the above torch seems really nice and not expensive - ordered immediately also the gas bottle with it - free pp That's a good torch with several advantages - it stands up by itself, and it can be operated one-handed (the gas control on top can be turned by a finger and the ignition button is easily accessible)

thanks OneDay - and Greg the colour did not scare me - though a nice bright green would have been better

yes @oneday I can see that the stand design and fire button seems safer than waving about with a crazy blowtorch pen
I picked up a candle/ choker lighter from home and bargain 79 pence. it's just a lighter with a one inch long barrel where flame comes out. I'm les likely to burn my fingers ( that's just for flaming my kanthal wire)

too late Greg - but am happy with the orange one - orange is the colour of creativity - guess I need that Pepperty - very thoughtful - would not do the hob thing either - even though I don't do dressing gowns - would be scared for my fingers

I cant even remove the grill tray without suffering 3rd degree burns of hand/fingers, me and a butane torch is somewhat worrying but least I'll hopefully be in control ( I even have a fire blanket I can have to hand...) I ordered a fasttech butane lighter with stand - that should be here in the next few weeks, as I was trying to colour co-ordinate as this will have to be on top of wall cabinet with my magnifier/3rd hand and I cant have them not matching?!? so its basic black with silver for them both.

Been doing my coils for a while now experimenting with different ohms and wire and now I think I come up with a winner (well someone else did and I copied it) for pro tanks I use no-resistance/resistance wire. The no-resistance wire ends go in rubber so stops the odd burning taste from over heating coils. Not got a zapper so ordered some premade 1.8ohm wires from stealth vape (they do a selection) built coil on 18g syringe needle torched to give strength placed cotton wool in fluffing up ends what a vape really nice flavour and vape. I have also used these premade wires to do a silica build on my brothers pro tank as he won't use cotton and he thinks these are a lot better too as they last longer than normal oem coils he normally goes for.
