What it comes down to is there is no PayPal protection for the buyer or the seller with F & F just ask the lad who is now £150 out of pocket. There is paypal protection if you decide or use it or not is up to you. No shit sherlock.

Greg , you are the last person who should have any complaint about the tone of peoples replies. Your own posts have a habit of being argumentative and at times even offensive. I have resisted the urge to post on this subject for months but get a grip and treat other people well if you expect them to treat you well. Guess this will be my last post here as everyone you bitch at ends up banned. You may agree or disagree with posts, but your replies tend to cause drama, and not intelligent conversation. Sorry for the rant but it had to be said before more members are driven away.

My opinion differs to yours from my experience on this forum, I find adding nothing to a thread then jumping in and attacking someone personally gets you banned.

Sorry for the rant but it had to be said before more members are driven away. Your entitled to your opinion thatguy of course. I voice my opinion and some may not like my forthright view but I don't think I'm ever aggressive or offensive. you do of course need to understandstand I can say things to some I know well that may appear offensive to others, just a bit of banter that's usually reciprocated. although my opinions are strong I do try to convey them as light hearted in most cases through the use of icons. ill add that anyone who dislikes my posts is at Liberty to block them and make them invisible. id be most grateful if you can provide a list of people I've bitched at who then gets banned, I think you'll find only moderators and the boss have the ability to ban people so I'd thing the person banned broke the rules at least 3 times whereas I have a clean slate. id like to think I am intelligent but some may disagree and I'm fine with that, and I do take offence that your accusing me of driving members away. I tend to go out of my way to help members and send them items free of charge without broadcasting it, sometimes the recipient doesn't even know it's me who provided it. seen as you've seen fit to accuse me in public perhaps you like to carry on and share some specifics rather than making bold vague statements. Alternatively feel free to PM me. finally so as not to dissapoint your perception, pipe up with tangible facts or wind your neck in

I think for the amount of money for the sale, I'd want the sellers address and phone number! The highest I've paid on here was for £80 and the seller went out of her way to accommodate the transaction. I do feel sorry for this chap who seems to have lost his money, its a horrible thing to go through. Yes, its happened to me on this forum but not for a huge amount but it still grates though I'm over it now. I really hopes he gets redress but looks unlikely.

I really hopes he gets redress but looks unlikely. Until the seller realises that sending an item that is worth £150 in the normal mail (no proof of postage, no receipt) wasn't the best idea in the world. On a more positive note he has let slip that it was his missus that posted the item so absolving all the blame from himself.

Well then, that being the case, I've broken all the rules selling stuff. I get my lad to post stuff, untracked, f&f option etc. One thing I do do however, the money stays in PayPal until I know the buyer has received the item. I will always refund if it goes wrong BUT the onus is on me as a seller, is what I'm saying. And I'd only buy expensive stuff from members I've had interaction with. But this is only my opinion and thoughts

Going on the points made for me it's not the amount, it's the principle, I would spend £150 on fuel to go get my £5 back if I had too. Also the value of losing £150 is different for everyone, ie the risk, to some it's a bottle of champers, to others it's their monthly food budget.
On the other end when I did I little competition before christmas for about £25 worth of juices I still paid for next day recorded because I would of been embarrassed if they did not turn up, although free. For that reason I won't be selling much on here, dont care if members think I'm an arse, a thief, no I couldn't post here again.
As for F&F being a rule here if that's what the bosses decide by a majority vote or by thier own decisions then I'm fine with that, as I have said my pesonal opnion is i would like the choice, many members here I would trust and I certainly would prefer they get my money over pal pay, don't think pay pay are short of a few bob.....

as I have said my pesonal opnion is i would like the choice We all have that choice already. Buy, or don't buy!! This was debated before, and I think the decision made at that time was, to avoid restricting members, the option for F&F was to leave it as is. Everyone, no matter how much the point is debated now it won't change the majority decision. Personal choice - end of!! Unfortunate thing is this topic will come up again in another 6 months. If I was selling something F&F I would not be offended by someone asking me to do it without (that would show to me the buyer is just using common sense). In fact I'd rather price kit with both options.

I'm kind of finding this whole discussion rather ironic UKV do have the rule that members can't use F&F yet the OP of this thread is about a member on there that did so

Probably by holding back yesterday and responding to the posts I read today. Good catch ETA: I've skimmed the thread on ukv now and I don't (through fogged eyes) see any mention of F&F, other than a single enquiry. Just one other query: with no response to either. Morning after the night before maybe? (for me, not the subject)
