Hurrah Lettie, so glad vaping is working well for you & your hubby. It's weird for me because I quit smoking about 3 months before finding out about vaping. However, over the 3 months, I constantly craved cigarettes, but was resisting the temptation because my partner hated the smell of smoke & wasn't keen on me spending our money on cigarettes. Then, by chance I came across the e-cig & after much thought decided to splash out & purchase the Riva model. Although I get weird looks from strangers & laughed at by friends, I too have found it quite liberating. I can enjoy vaping without the smell of smoke lingering & I can vape in the comfort of my own home without resorting to the back garden. I'm also looking forward to having a nice little stock of accessories and juice. For xmas I'm even thinking about splashing out on one of those posh GG e-cigs

Funnily enough, I still have a lighter loitering around and often try to light my e-cig with it!! Not a good idea. MM

Hi Hissie, Fabulous isn't it? I do a couple of smoking friends who 'don't get it' - one friend is insisting that she DOES NOT want to pack up smoking, and no amount of my explaining the e-cig to her will convince her otherwise. She has asthma as well....... My non-smoking friends are just telling me to pack up altogether, and no amount of explaining to them will convince them that I am not bonkers..... But I don't blooming care! Hubby and I are happy, daughter and Grandon are happy, and that is all that matters to me. Oh, and my house is now sooooo fresh.....xx

It's funny people's reactions to seeing something new and alien to them.. I was at a works presentation yesterday, vaping on my tornado, outside with the 'others' Had 3 smokers fascinated, wanting a try, and then asking for info on where to buy.. And had a different 2, having a good laugh, saying how ridiculous 'metal fags' was, 'wouldn't be seen dead' I think were amongst the remarks i just shrugged and said sheep, follow the smokers then. Sent the email links to the open minded ones tonight

Quote Lettie: What a liberation! No more stinky ashtrays, no more smelly house or car, no more cursing cus me lighter has run out, etc etc.
I keep a clean astray in the kitchen for popping teeny scraps in, like the stem of a dried fig when getting muesli. The bin is at least three paces away and then I have to put my foot on the pedal Didn't you see elsewhere the shame and guilt such posts are causing? Well done Lettie! I've said this before, but here is another thoroughly heartwarming post, thank you Lettie! You must be one of the happiest couples in the land with your new-found freedom scylla

Bucko, I wonder why some smokers want to ridicule the e-cig?

I think it's probably to do with the fact that it's fear of the unknown.
Noone I've come in contact with has heard of or seen an e-cig. So, I guess the concept of vaping liquid nicotine is quite alien to them. I suppose they have a fear that it won't give them the hit they need from analogs.
Some of my friends also struggle with the initial costs involved. They can't get their head round that it's cheaper & healthy in the long run.

One of our seasonal guests saw me in the office this morning, vaping away. He said "what are you doing?". He's a smoker, so wasn't alarmed that he thought I was smoking analogues. He didn't care if I was, even knowing the law! I showed him and explained. He was quite interested, but not overly and never asked about getting them etc....
I did try.

Brilliant news Lettie - so pleased to hear vaping is going so well for you and your hubby. I always use the term liberating as well, for me the pleasure of actually being able to sit down in the lounge and watch a TV programme through from start to finish, rather than dashing outside or standing at the kitchen door every few minutes is the best thing ever. Have just about managed to de-pong my car now, my goodness it stank as I smoked like a chimmey in it. :-[

Bucko, I wonder why some smokers want to ridicule the e-cig? As buck says - their loss ! I've come across - a) smokers that are anti vaping (when they haven't even tried an e cig !!) b) vapers that are anti smoking (even tho they smoked themselves only a few weeks before !!) c) people that are anti both !! Why oh why, can't folk just live & let live ???
