If that's aimed at me, I'm an electrical contractor, not a journalist. While on the health risk subject, I just filled a new 3 ohm cartomiser and within half a dozen puffs it tasted burnt, you know the taste I mean. Is this bad for me? Is it a duff cartomiser? Does it just need more juice? I've topped it up and it has improved, just suck it and see?

There's an increased risk of Alzheimer's and senile dementia with vaping. At least, there's an increased chance of living long enough to get them. What? Seriously? I've not heard that, where'd that come from?

All I know is I feel a lot better since I stopped smoking, have stopped coughing and find riding much easier. So if there are any issues, I doubt they are any worse than smoking. So far the only damage is to my wallet. Yeah, mine too! About 300 quid lighter in only 8 weeks! Still, I should live a whole lot longer, you can't put a price on that. Here's to giving up without actually giving up! Cheers everyone!

Hi, Apologies if it already ready exists, but is there a list anywhere on the forum that explains any risks? I've done quite a lot of research, but would like some more in depth and up to date info. Please help! Clive In a word, No. If as you say you have done a lot of research, then you probably know as much as anyone and would perhaps like to post your findings. Well, I know Dr Hillary Jones is or was very much on-board with e-cigs, but as for the effects they have the only info I could find was that it causes a tightening of the blood vessels in the lungs? I believe it's similar to what happens to an asma sufferer? However, I'm sure this effect only lasts a few mins at most and has no lasting effects. From what other info I've found, most doctors are in favour, but that's about it. Any one have anything else?

Hi,
I've learnt to lay it down and give it a shake when I go to use it next. Just be sure to switch off the batteries between uses.
6 weeks since my last rollie, bye bye golden Virginia, it really is achievable!
Good luck!

Hi, noob here,
The riva is a great kit, easy to use and huge battery life. Finding a flavour that suits you is the hardest part! I don't have a fave between cartomisers and stardusts etc, each one offers me something the others don't, so flit between them all throughout the day, but you'll find your way soon enough. I'm still learning, but that's part of the fun.
As for batteries, the 1100s should last a couple of days, but you can charge each night, it won't shorten their life. DO make sure you switch them off after each use though! DO remember to carry spare juice and a spare cartomiser with you, you don't want to get caught short and resort to a CIGGY! Drip tips aren't essential, but are a nice addition to your kit/vaping experience.
Best o luck!

It looks like the button and associated timing device got cooked from the excessive heat, but I can't confirm that.

Hi everyone,
just a little heads-up on keeping yourself safe. Before I start, I'd like to point out that I'm no noob to lithium cells (batteries). My hobby is RC, radio controlled models if the abbreviation means nothing to you. Basically land based for me, I've had a boat, it was OK, I've got a small helicopter, tricky to fly and subsequently broken in a box somewhere. I'll fix it eventually. So for me it's off-road trucks hitting speeds of 40 to 60 mph, faster is easily achievable. Now, all this speed is made possible because of Lithium cells, they produce enormous amounts of power, from fully charged to empty they just keep on performing, which is why we love them, plus they're lighter than nickel cells.
However, there is always a downside, these type of cells are a powder-keg if mistreated. Just type 'lipo fire' into youtube and you'll see what I mean.
Now I'm not clumsy by nature, but accidents happen, in this case through forgetfulness, so here's what happened; I'd just finished with my Riva and brand new atomiser and slipped it into my pocket, sat on the sofa and all is good so far. Then I decided to put my feet up on the sofa and this is where it all went wrong. As I rolled onto my side, I have put weight onto the on button and in less than ten seconds smoke/vapour is pouring from my pocket! I managed to get it out of my pocket before it could set fire to me or the sofa, but the battery and atomiser are both dead, damned hot too!
I appreciate that most of you are probably aware of these risks, but for those who us that aren't, I thought I'd share.
Replacement battery is ordered, pride is intact (just), lesson learnt! TURN OFF THE BATTERY WHEN NOT IN USE!
I don't mean to offend anyone by 'teaching granny to suck eggs', as I said, I just thought I ought to share this with those who may not of considered the risks. I hope this is OK?
Clive.

RY4 is a flavour. A mix of tobacco, vanilla and caramel.. You can get it just about anywhere. Look in tobacco flavoured juices and it'll be there. But the taste and experience varies with each. They are all different so finding your favourite one is a mini-journey in itself. You're not wrong there, my i-cig tobacco has stopped tasting great and I'm struggling to find a baccy alternative! Just ordered a load from Jason, hopefully one of those will do the job! I'm still at the stage where I'm looking for baccy replacement, but I'm determined to stay off the baccy itself.

Well, I'm not too fused about the cost of buying replacements as long as the price stays reasonable, in the long run I'll live a lot longer, which is a good thing.
Quick question that I've been asking in several places this morning, Greensmoke Red is my favourite flavour, would you know of a juice that would replicate it? Long shot I know, but thought I'd ask.
Cheers.

I have actually swaped it now. so I am ok with it, I also have a selection of RY4's coming, and some nice strong stuff, the gold stuff that people have been raving about and the RED which apparently cowboys like lol Sorry to hijack, but my favourite flavour ever was Greensmoke Red, this RY4 you mentioned, would you know if it's anything like Greensmoke Red? Also, where do you get RY4 products? Cheers.
