My Ego Twist arrived today and so far the jury is still out on whether it is a step closer to getting me a satisfying vape The first thing I tried with it (after charging the battery) was to put the C4+ that I had been using on my Argento on it... with the voltage on the lowest setting... the first couple of hits were ok... but then I started getting the burning taste in my throat again. Very confusing, it's neither the clearo or the juice since they are fine on the Argento... I swapped it back over to the Argento to double check, no burning in my throat at all. This is confusing since the Argento is 3.7v (the battery was freshly charged) and the lowest setting on the Twist is 3.2v... so why does it burn on the lower voltage? ??? Obviously there is a part of the picture that I am missing here. Also in the post today came a Vivi Nova and a pack of Boge XXL 510 cartos, so I filled them up and left them for a while to make sure they had chance to wick. Next I tested the Twist again (still at the lowest setting) by dripping with my SR 306 atty. No burning this time, but the vapour is noticeably warmer than on the Argento and the flavour a little stronger. After a few puffs though I noticed that the ring around the button on the Twist is getting hot, a few more puffs and it feels uncomfortably hot... the threading above it even hotter. Still no burning in my throat though. But this leads to an obvious question... is this normal with a Twist or do I have a faulty unit? I didn't notice the heat build up when using the C4 since the skirt meant I was holding it a little lower and kind of reaching up for the button... but the skirt would also mean that all that heat is being kept beneath the C4 and not allowing it to cool down... potentially keeping the atty in the C4 hotter for longer and causing the burning? maybe? Next up I tried the Boge XXL carto. No burning... even after numerous long puffs. Good vapour. Flavour a little weak. Good job I used a drip tip on the carto though... it gets VERY hot! Finally the Vivi Nova with the 2.8 ohm atty. I realise this needs a little time to run in... so no comments about the flavour or vapour production. The interesting thing here is no heat build up around the button ring. So after my first day with the Twist, I am not really sure what I have learnt about my vaping requirements Testing will continue, I am not going to be beaten!

It sounds very much like its your taste buds which is normal for a while after switching to vaping. Even now 1yr on I still get the odd day here and there where I can't taste juice the same. Even extra flavouring may not help. All my juices are a very decent strength in regards to flavour. I was sick of trying so many the first 6mths of vaping and most were quite weak so I made mine to be a good strength of flavour. I'm also happy to add extra or less on any of mine as they're made to order. Especially if someone has tried some of mine and would prefer a bit more strawberry, a little less biscuit etc etc I'm always happy to adjust to personal requirements, just a note in the notes section at the checkout is needed I had already placed an order with you before making this post and I see that they are already winging their way to me

Hi Takshaka Our Virgin Vapor range that we supply comes with extra flavour as standard - im not sure if its a LOT extra but it is extra as opposed to the standard flavour Your post reminded me that I have a selection of virgin juices that I have only tasted briefly before leaving to steep a while. I loaded up some celestial honeydew and that is something I can taste, not strongly, but at least there is a clear flavour.... and LOADS of vapour The one thing that puts me off the virgin juices though is that you only have 2 strengths and I generally prefer lower strength (6 mg), especially for sweet flavours that I will want to chain vape! Do you have any plans to offer a bigger range of strengths or maybe just a 0 nic version of each which could be used to dilute the higher strength juice?

Yes, adding extra flavouring is a good idea too, I hadn't thought of that, it may be the way to go. I like sweet too... although most caramel flavours have tasted aweful too me (apparently my tastebuds have no problem detecting bad flavour )... what do you use as sweetener?

How long do you leave yours to steep from here? I had some delivered from there today (extra strength) and the flavour wasn't strong for me so I will check again in a few days. It may well be a temporary thing at the 1 month mark, that hadn't occured to me but now I think about it my sense of taste has been even worse than usual!

Which juice makers/vendors have an extra flavour option?
It may be partly down to not finding the right equipment combination yet but my taste buds are definitely struggling after over 20 years of smoking. I have tried a lot of juices and so far, most of them have very weak flavours for me so I am looking for something with a little extra... no... a LOT extra!

Thanks Takshaka for asking my newbies question of the day, I only got the Riva kit Tuesday. And the 306 bridgeless sounds just the job. Like you I only want the SR as well, but I hate to spoil it for you, the sentence underneath says "CISCO (BAUWAY) DIRECT DRIPPING ATOMISER, BRIDGED OR BRIDGELESS, BRIDGED ARE AVAILABLE IN LOW OR STANDARD RESISTANCE , BRIDGELESS AVAILABLE ONLY IN LOW RESISTANCE," my red highlighting, even though the 2 dropdown boxes allow you to select bridgeless and SR. Back to the search. I sooooo didn't notice that before ordering last night Fortunately I have a Ego Twist on the way so it isn't a complete waste, but I really should learn to read the small print lol.

The bridged ones are still very nice though and if you felt like being adventurous, it's not to much of a job, to just whip the bridge off with a pair of pliers. Plus, the bridged 306's are pretty straightforward to clean if you want them for testing flavours. Really? You can just pull the bridge off?

Great news yasnz It's funny how easy it is to lose the nasty habit when you find a much nicer habit to replace it with. I wasn't even trying to quit, hadn't thought about it... 2 days of vaping and I just didn't have the urge to smoke anymore after over 20 years, that's the ninja way of vapour You will find though that the shopping habit you have acquired will just get worse and is much harder to quit.... but sooooo much fun

Thanks for the advice. I have ordered a 650mah Twist which should keep the temptation to keep spending money in search of satisfaction at bay for a month or 2. I have probably got enough juice either here or on the way to keep me going for the rest of the year So the plan is to try to only spend money on specific essentials... of course that rule may not apply to massive, too good to miss bargains.

I have been wondering the same actually. I have a ton of samples that I have been trying out every now and then... so far I haven't noticed any of them improve dramatically over time. One possibility is that samples come from juice made up ahead of time rather than being freshly made within days of dispatch, which would mean they have already had plenty of time to steep. That would be a very sensible move on the part of the vendors since if you are buying a 5ml sampler they want you to try it asap to come back and buy more. Of course, a lot of them are also just being sold on after being imported without the vendor doing any mixing, so again they would already be weeks or months old. It would be a very handy thing if we could compile some sort of database of brands/vendors/flavours and whether they need steeping and if so for how long. It would be even more useful if the vendors provided that info for us!

Sorry to hear you have been having such a tough time lately.
Life has a habit of throwing itself at you all at once rather than forming an orderly queue and letting you at least have a bit of breathing space between dealing with all the crap we have to get through to survive.
I hope things calm down for you soon and that this spate of bad luck means you have the rest of the year off from disasters and frustrations!

That is a surprise... I need to do some more research . I had originally dismissed the Ego Twist as I thought is just had 3 different voltage settings rather than being fully variable, I guess that was an earlier version or I imagined it lol. I am looking around now for an Ego Twist kit to get an idea of price... but so far I can only find the batteries on their own. Is this generally the case? Are the Twist batteries only sold alone or does anyone know of someone selling kits?

Takshaka, the one i got was a charger with 2 pins that hinge out and a travel adapter plug that the pins push into. I told all family members not to touch the charger as i considered it unsafe. Yes, that's the same as the one I was sent originally, definitely not safe looking!
