yea always the best way to have batteries from china in a separate order or a mod containing batteries separate too. Also ordering around xmas onwards there can be big delays for batts to arrive sometimes, I'd try and get any orders in before dec maybe. I'm still hoping the gb eu warehouse bring in some samsungs 25rs or the newer 3000mah samsungs or lg hg2.

I remember getting an ecigar after my 510 cartridge kit, hoping the wider cartridge would mean longer vape times but I think the atty was actually built into the device, plus it was an auto battery but it came with small replaceable batteries so was in a way a mod. It didnt do too well though after a while, could have been due to the 36mg liquid or something that ended up making me cough every time lol. I found the flavors were quite nice though back then although quite simple. Had a great apple liquid, but prices were like around £15 per 15ml, then after a few years you could get em around £10 for 30ml and it kept dropping, kind of strange how prices then shot up again at least just for premium eliquid. I suppose eliquids are even cheaper than 3 yeas ago if you look around though heh I did use those bud attys for a while too lol, very small eliquid volume on those. Plus that 6ml ce4 type atty with giant wicks, never got em to work properly lol about 90% of my top coil attys just flooded and overheated at the time! I think alot was to do with very tightly wrapped coils and silica not wicking as fast as cotton or something, plus the thin wires that couldnt handle much power. Its hilarious the messy coils made back then from wrapping around some silica, nowadays using a bar or screwdriver its so much easier!

I read that spacing the coils a tiny bit might help with this, not sure if thats the case but might be worth a try.

The only thing those beauty rings or the 510 heatsink adaptors can do is sometimes cause the connection not to be as good if the connections are not tight and can cause the ohms to jump or some voltage drop. The smowell should protect the battery though from any shorts and it sounds like that battery should be fine too with the wattage limit of the device. Unless the battery is not a genuine one maybe the continuous amp limit is much lower. If there was any venting it would usually be from the top vent area, would be strange for this to happen without the battery getting hot though. I'd probably not risk using the battery again if that happened though.
edit: just noticed you did say the body of the mod did get hot, I'd think there could be some major issue with the internal of the battery then. Also just noticed you said it was from fasttech, that generally means its a genuine battery hmm, who knows then whats goin on!

Its strange that sigelei, kanger, etc are not releasing a dna 200 mod now that theres many in china, unless maybe theyre working on one, maybe with dual 18650. Also I wonder if they use dual 18650s whether the board can go further than the 133watts quoted as loads of mods are capable with higher off 2 batts, maybe 200 watts is too high though for most amp limits though with regular 18650s.

Yea the firing bar was an issue on mine at first, luckily the head of the hex screws is the same as the ones that alot of drippers use so the same hex key could be used! At first the bar would just stick at the top but after loosening it a bit it was fine, maybe i the black and mini versions theyve addressed that though. The menu system is nice also, its good they have that kind of menu instead of having to remember alot of button combinations to get around it heh

yea they've improved their mods significantly, I agree though the upgrades just add a bit of extra faff to getting the app sorted and then registering etc, I remember the janty mid had a similar idea with paid upgrades but theirs were a fair bit more expensive and covered alot of the function, one of the first few 25 watt regulated mods though at the time heh

The great thing with ss wire is I've been reading a fair bit that it can be used in both tc and non tc in other mods without the same issues nickel and titanium may hav if used in non tc! Also saw a graphic for that new smok wooden mod and it seems it does ss as well. The xcube really has a tonne of options though, I wonder since they do a fair bit of firmware upgrades whether theyd support things like dicodes wire and even gold wire or whatnot that I read another mod could support. Would be great if they started adding some more features that the dna 200s have like custom power curves for tc and being able to monitor battery status and show amp draw etc as well as being able to display graphs on the pc and save them too.

Its one of the recent GG tanks, I didn't think there would be any new clones of them, had not seen anything new since the ithaka clone heh. This one is a bit like the taifun with 2 posts and larger airflow than usual. No clue who makes the clone though. I havn't looked into the GG products for a while now, it seems its more for mtl but could take higher watts based on the airflow hole and be alot easier to build than the ody and ithaka. I think the pics on the article are from a previous prototype as the more recent pics look alot more like the disrupter mod, apparently theres a new connection, probably larger than the 510 but it comes with a 510 adaptor too, the tank according to reddit has some kind of thermometer inside it too, not much info has been posted or pics of the insides yet, apparently it'll be available in october, gonna be interesting but it could mean we're limited to only specific innokin tanks at the start. https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/3gyw6b/introducing_innokin_advanced_temperature_control/

Apparently some of the dna beta testers had a nickel allergy but vaped with the ni200 wire and didn't notice issues, however I read 1 or 2 people elsewhere found some throat irritation from it who had allergies. Also i'd assume if someone had nickel allergies it might not be good to handle it for making coils, theres the potential to poke yourself when working with wires as always heh
