I wouldn't worry about the size, if you are used to carrying around 20 analogues you will be pleasantly surprised at how portable an Ego is.
I have the 650Mah battery, so it's probably 2 cm shorter, it's roughly the size of a posh Fountain pen.

You're welcome & it is working, so you have a booster to remind you how well you're doing. I didn't know that vaping existed until I was introduced to it by a friend, him & his wife were very bullish, as he smoked more than me & it had made him forget all about cigs. Just wished I'd started as soon as he'd shown me, instead of forgetting about it for a coupla months. In the time I've been vaping, I've only very briefly thought about having a cig once, I'm very happy with that. près de 4 mois maintenant fille, sa bonne !

If you like the Cartomiser, then really there is no reason to try anything else.
Except a tank - which is literally, a cartomiser with holes punched in it, and a tank of liquid around it.
A clearomiser will not interest you, it simply removes the taste / burnt taste/ and a lot of the throat hit to give more taste.
It's good for us who vape non tobacco, delicate juices (Vanilla, Cookie, Raspberry Ripple etc).

That looks like a brilliant deal !
I paid about £5 more and only got two 650Mah Ego Battery's in mine.
On the mg of nicotine thing,
- If it's too high - you'll feel dizzy and sick for 10 minutes - If it's too low - you'll light up a cigar.
Neither is a massive problem, simply place another order for the correct one and try again when it arrives.
(Giving up Cigars) Is a Marathon not a sprint as they say.

The nicotine I have came in 54Mg nicotine, in a base of 100% PG or 100% VG (option). So if adding Nicotine, you would also be adding PG / VG at the same time.
It works well for tweaking the nicotine content up (you don't need a lot at 54Mg strength !).

I have the same flavour in 70% PG, 50% PG, 70 % VG and 100% VG.
There is a huge difference from one end to the other. There's quite a large difference between each of the above.
I used to like high PG, it as you said imitates Cig's a lot better by tickling the back of your throat when you inhale. VG doesn't seem to do that at all.
My main problem with VG is however, the taste get's muted massively - and now I can taste things again, I am sensitive to it.
Then again, as someone else said, the actual flavour used seems to make a difference as well.
My mixing chart says 1/3 or so of the mixture is flavouring - so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I get through 2 litres of water during the day at work, doesn't seem to help my throat though - I just spend more time in the loo ;-)
Maybe I just need to get used to it, I'm only a month of Ciggies after all.
Edit - I have a VV Mod, sort of, I have a Kicked Bolt (Variable Wattage). Bit fiddly to adjust as you need to take out the battery to adjust it.
Currently the kick is not in it, I'm just using a standard 3.7V 18490 Battery.

I've had a sore throat since I started vaping, and finally worked out it's the PG in the Juice.
Problem I am finding is reducing the PG.
The Juices I like are generally high in PG, if I order them in 70% VG or higher I can't taste them anymore.
I have just counted, and I have 34 different juices (23 different flavours, the rest made up of different PG / VG mixes).
Out of that lot I use -
Go4Smoke, 22mg Peanut Butter Cookie (70 % PG) Cloud9Vaping, Cream, 24mg (80 % PG) Paradise Vapes, 18mg Peaches and Cream (50 % PG)
Any suggestions for a high VG juice, with similar taste as above ?
