Got mine today, brought off Dee on the Classies. It looks pretty good, shame its plated, but for the money not suprising, a cheapo but should vape alright I think. Everything fits together pretty well. I'll set it up later and see how it does.

May well be worth a look if its similar to the German one. There must be a bit of a difference if the tanks don't fit. German one works with Rampage tanks and the ones that Sotong makes. Its capacity is pretty naff without. I'm getting a bigger tank for mine.

It looks a bit similar to my German one, which has a really good build quality. How does it compare?

I'm curious to know what the UK one is like and how it compares. I've just picked up a 2nd hand German one.

A good friend of mine has v mild asthma, she can't tolerate vapour at all. Feels like her airways are closing up, starts coughing, really doesn't like it. She has the same response to foggers and smoke machines at shows. Problem with PG I guess. Thats just from being by me vaping, not from direct use.

The Twist is a good device, smallish and convenient. Its only drawback is that it doesn't last forever, although mine trucked on for a fair while. I've got a vamo, I think its an ugly beast, not too keen on it out and about, very bulky. Its good though, for an effective vape, works well, other than the spring which has been sorted on the newer models I believe. I use it a lot, probably more than anything else.

5ml syringe with 16gauge needle is my weapon of choice I find it very useful. eg: if i want to change a flavour, just suck it out of my atomizer and put it back in the bottle, i dont like to waste a single drop Thats a really good idea, damn I didn't think of it before. Could have saved me from buying those 8 attys

I think that there's a huge amount of good science around. From the sequencing of the Genome, to the technology that were using now and countless other things, including amazing advances in medicine. Were awash in quality science everyday, plenty of bad science too. Of course it requires funding, and the sources of that funding can be an issue. Yet the study I mentioned provides useful information, done on a small budget, by researchers without a known bias. Surely people don't oppose that kind of work?
The pharmaceutical industry has some big problems. Its responsible for shoddy science all the time, the non reporting of studies is a particular issue. Data is misrepresented and when the media gets involved it can be even worse. Yet the possibility to do good quality work is out there and even that industry produces some really useful stuff. Science is mixed up in politics and society and it can be complicated. Yet its one of the few ways to begin to really understand things.
If something like vaping is distinctly healthier than smoking then research can show this. Whilst tobacco companies have huge resources they cant fund a study to show smoking is healthy (although they have tried similar things)

Evidence about vaping doesn't have to come from drug licensing style clinical trials though. Studies like randomised trials could be done by any qualified people with the resources time and inclination to do so and would be useful. The work done by Konstantinos Farsalinas, on the effects of vaping on the heart is good science, done on his own time. He has access to the expensive equipment due to his work, so thats a fortunate situation. If awareness of vaping is increased then more scientists may wish to look at it.
I would like to see proper evidence on the effects of vaping. I think its important. Obviously not biased studies. But quality science that helps us understand the effects of vaping is surely better than ignorance.

Its good that they support harm reduction. I think they do have a point about lack of disclosure over ingredients. We still don't know fully about the safety of vaping really. I think its much safer than smoking and there is some evidence to support this however its early days.
Point one doesn't stand up to well. I think the delivery of nicotine by effective devices is sufficient.
As for clinical trials/evidence based smoking cessation well... The current treatments whilst having an evidence base are not really very effective. There are also some problems with much of the data on NRT (potential problems with a lack of correct blinding)
But "who needs clinical trials" We do for sure! Especially if e-cigs are really going to be promoted as a method for smoking cessation. You may say look at all the people who quit with e-cigs. I could show plenty of people who tried them and didn't stop smoking and didn't continue using them. Without proper evidence its all speculation. The only data I've been shown looked really promising, not surprising to me, but we still need it.
If you get good research and evidence it makes the case for vaping much stronger.
Good working in contacting ASH though. Potentially they could be an ally.

Just give it a bash mate, you've got nothing to lose really. The juice will probably last you a bit, depending on your usage. I only got through about 2mls a day, until I got some gear that used juice quicker. Have a go with the vaping alongside smoking at first, see how that goes for you.

Definitely get the V2 though. I have the V1 and the spring is crap, I'm going to have to change it. Annoying.
