Another thing to consider, if you're going to get into coil-clogging juices, is to get yourself a good, basic rebuildable dripper, like the Igo-L. Microcoil and cotton, change the cotton regularly (at least once a day, more may be necessary, by the sound of it) and dry burn the coil before sticking in a fresh wick. Lots of tutorials available on Youtube, and plenty of experienced heads around to lead you astray give advice and encouragement. It's hard to say how long a microcoil will stand up to a heavy clogging regime like that, but it should be a lot longer than any protank build.

PTFE (Teflon to its friends) springs to mind, Phil. Or the silicone stuff they make baking sheets from. I know you can turn PTFE in a lathe... have we had this conversation before? I remember searching for PTFE rod on ebay for this very purpose...

8% is very low for a VC recipe. Think in terms of 20% minimum as a total of flavouring in a VC juice. Suggestions above are all good additions. Also a cream flavour to taste. And remember that custards need to steep for a long time before they come into their own; some people say 2 weeks, I'd say that's the bare minumum.

I have one of these, and the whistle was driving me slightly nuts.
First thing I tried - not the most un-invasive first thing I could have chosen to try, in retrospect - was to put a bit of a chamfer on the mouth of the air-hole, with a countersink. Little or no improvement. Had at it again, boring out the airhole slightly with a diamond tip in the drem-alike. At this point, with the grub screw very nearly closed, there was no whistle. The draw was a little tighter than I would like, but better a tight draw than the whistle.
Just now I've been off to look at the FT thread, and tried the scrap of mesh in the air-hole thing - which stopped the whistle, but the draw was even tighter than previously. Then I removed the grub screw, and closed off the air-hole itself. There's a slight whine, when drawing hard, but the whistle is gone. So it will be either that, or back to almost-closed air-way, according to whichever I find myself preferring.
It strikes me that if I can get hold of a very, very fine needle file, I might try to take the edge off that junction between air-way and grub-screw passage, but that will be for another day.

No new mixes today, but I've filtered and bottled about 80ml of homemade peppermint concentrate. Should last a while. Thinking about it, I'll nip into the lab and make a stab at a mint toffee mix when the footie's over...

(Was going to post this in the jukebox thread just now, but then I thought it might do more good here. Chin up, Rosco

You might want to try some ribbon wire on the Aga-T2 with SS rope & meash, vereybowring. More coil/wick interface, more vapour, more flavour. That combination changed my mind about the device completely.

Run a few changes of water through, make sure to blow any liquid out of the needles, dry them off. I'm still using the first two needles I started with, six months & still going strong. I bought some spares a couple of months ago, haven't opened them.
I use clear nail varnish over the syringe markings to protect them, it's worked very well so far (h/t Lordy).

I'm on a 10% Red Astaire just now in my Fogger, made a week ago. I left it for three days, and it's plenty strong enough flavour for me.
I made up 30ml of Afro Dizziac quite a while ago (end of October!) and I don't seem to be going through it with the same enthusiasm, although I do enjoy it when I put it in the dripper.
Jack the Ripple I don't really like. Forest Affair was nice, but it attracted insects. I suppose it'll be okay now there's not so many about. Minty the Toff, also very nice, but I'm confident I can do a homemade version of that. Got a peppermint concentrate brewing...

o hai Dave, I didn't know you were in here too.
I'll be at the Broadcasting House version. What with the meet later in the day, it's going to be a long one.

Not directly comparable, I know, but I have some very well steeped GVC in a genny, and a Rhubarb & Custard mix (combined pre-made juices, not really my own recipe) in a Protank. I definitely prefer the genny. Couldn't comment on plastic, I've more or less phased it out.

I'm pretty sure I have. I know for certain I've added attachments on my Proboards account in another forum, because I've done it in the last 24 hours. Presumably the quota is for the Proboards account, rather than specific to any particular forum.
I'm still thinking it's extremely odd that once we've added them, there is no way to manage them.

So there's no way to see our attachments and delete them? That seems a bit odd.

hi guys,
I've just been unable to add an attachment to a post, because apparently my attachment quota is full. I'm sure some of my attachments don't need to be in there anymore, but I haven't found anywhere I can view, and selectively delete them. Proboards help seems to have nothing to say on the subject. Any ideas?
