Ordered my Eleaf iStick on 28/01/2015, it arrived today! This is the first non-mech I've ever had in 2 1/2 years vaping. The vaping is even better than my Magma "drippers". I am well pleased with it. It does all I want, even on the lowest wattage! Very much aware that as it's a "cheepo" it may not last very long, but at £13 it's a good start. My foot is now firmly on the ladder of VV/VW mods.

Aliexpress per chance? SWMBO ordered hers around the same time and it arrived this morning, she is over the moon with it and I'm fairly impressed with just how small the thing is. She's now driving me crackers trying to find an atty that does not overwhelm the istick size wise.

SWMBO screws atty's on so tight anyone would thing they are permanently welded on. I've lost count of the times she's tried undoing one and only managed to unscrew the tank section with rather messy predictable results.
She's also a complete Jonah with regard to anything electrical, if it accepts voltage (battery or mains) she will feck it completely. Two words missing from her vocabulary are 'light' and 'touch', she even managed to push the fire button on an itaste vv so far in, it cracked the circuit board in half.
If I could trust her with a mech I'd get her something bombproof like a Kato clone, however my money is on her buggering one of those as well.

Is it meant to be a spare remote control for a Scalextric set? Or one of those things you have on the dash of your car that bleeps in the vicinity of Glaxo cameras?

Not to be confused with giblet which are chicken gizzards. Or groblet which is something I just made up.

The old woman's permanently affixed to the dashboard, I just stick whatever device I'm using in her teeth then hit the throttle. Best clamp in the world.

I have the Nitecore i4 which I'm more than happy with, but that D2 looks a nifty bit of kit. Shame it wasn't around when I was looking for a new charger.

And I STILL know/love Spectrum Basic The ZX Spectrum with it's dead flesh keyboard, oh the fun I had waiting for the cassette tape to load Manic Miner, the thrill when it finally loaded on and I was greeted with the theme tune 'The Hall of the Mountain King'.

I've heard lots of comments regarding Win8, none of it encouraging.

The only two half decent OS systems Microsoft have brought out are Win XP and Win 7, note I said half decent. The Linux derivatives wipe the floor with both of them IMO.

I've owned an Aqua/Origin (clone) double act for a while and whilst I use the Origin mech mod frequently I could never get the Aqua to perform properly and the problem is airflow. This is a twin coil device that utilises a Stainless Steel chimney and a Stainless Steel tank, it has one pair of air holes on one side of the body and air flow is controlled by screwing the tank up and down to expose more/less of the holes. The main issue with this device is that the airflow holes only connect to one coil, vaping the device 'as is' leads to constant dry hits and the thing becomes so hot it's a hand warmer.
This video shows how to modify the Aqua for better airflow
The most important modification is enlarging the two grooves in the Delrin insulator that fits in the bottom of the device, what the video does not make clear (there is no commentary) is that these two grooves need to join each other thus providing airflow to both coils, the guy in the video creates a chamfer around the top of the insert which does the job but it's something I missed first time around, what I did yesterday was to create a trench across the top of the insert thus connecting the two grooves. I haven't drilled out any of the metal parts mainly because I don't own any cobalt drill bits that small. I rebuilt the device with two .23 x 8 wrap coils and cotton wool wicks, the device measured out at 1.5 ohms with this build. What a difference, it's a veritable cloud monster with no overheating problems. I'm impressed at the improvement that such a simple fix has created, I really like this device and it looks the dogs BLX on the Origin especially in hybrid mode.
So for anyone with an Aqua clone discarded in a box somewhere, dig it out and sort the airflow problem out, it's a five minute job that will bring this device back to life.

Files can be recovered from wiped free space, this is how Gary Glitter got caught when he took his computer to his friendly repair shop. The only sure fire way to make sure that deleted files can never be recovered is to have shredding software overwrite deleted files at least 7 times. In comparison military shredding software by default overwrites a minimum of 12 times. One step further would be to format the hard drive an reinstall a new OS. The only 100% way to delete everything on a hard drive is to remove it from the laptop and wrap in foil, place into a pre heated oven at 250/gas mark nuke and bake for two hours, take it out of the oven (wear oven gloves) and immediately dump it into a bucket of water, remove then have at it with a sledgehammer. I absolutely guarantee it'll be wiped...............out.
