I have waited all day for the Housing lists to open at 5pm!!

I have been trying since then to get in to the site. Well, I can get into the site and log in, but as soon as I click 'make a bid' which is the place to show an interest in a property, the wheel goes round and around!!

Then get an error message
Server Error in '/' Application Runtime Error.

I have two different places to look but on the same site. Same thing on both.

I have shut down and restarted all to no avail.

That 'good man in the sky' says there's a reason for everything but sometimes I wonder!! MM

I'm sorry to hear that MM, it sounds like the problem is at their end, not yours.

Don't suppose there's anything we could do to help? I expect you have to have passwords 'n stuff, otherwise we could multiply your efforts and one of us might slip thru, like when a phone line is very busy As long as there weren't too many of us, when the site would prolly crash altogether

Hi Scyll, first thing this morning I couldn't get into internet at all - I could open but when I pressed for connection to virgin, the wheel went round and around again. Shut down, walked away for a while.

I nearly rang you to see if there was a problem with Virgin as Loonys had a problem with Virgin members (sounds rude!!) who couldn't log in etc. But I decided it was a bit early for you if you had been up all night as usual!!

Anyway, decided to walk away - wash hair- etc. Thought I would ring Virgin direct but didn't.
Just as well 'cos when I re logged in just now - everything is okay again!!! Grrrr!!

Looked at lists - nothing really for me again - I may have to be less choosy but I want to make sure the move is right for me - be the last time before I pop off!!

I'm glad you got thru in the end but how disappointing for you not to find your ideal new pad

I expect Virgin just had an outage I don't understand your internet, MM - when I boot up my PC the internet connection is just "there", I don't have to do anything. Is yours dial-up? If it's broadband I expect your hunky techie guy would have set it up optimally for you... am just thinking aloud

Scyll, I have a modem for internet connection so that's why I have to click on 'Speedtouch'. My lovely techy man could only use that when he first connected me up here!! Many years ago.

He did say something about Virgin doing away with modems soon - but I am trying to hang on until I move.
Then he can sort me out good and proper!!! MM

No Chrissie, not slow at all. I open up and my desktop shows, from there I click Speedtouch which connects straight away and Virgin Home page shows.

Then I wander around going wherever I want!!
I certainly don't think I'm slower than others I've seen. MM

Thank you Hanow but I think I am on my own!! Since all Councils and Housing Associations amalgamated, there doesn't seem to be a person who knows you personally.

I used to have a lovely lady who knew exactly what I needed and who said she would help when the time came. Now the time is here - she's moved on. Shame, she used to sit up here with me for ages, watching me paint!!! Said it was her bit of peace and quiet!!

We do have a Housing Manager man but he deals with problems really. He holds a 'Surgery' on Thursday mornings so will try to see him then. He is a lovely, loud Jamaican but I can't understand a word he says!! Oh well!!

Wish I would find my magic wand!! MM
