Hello everybody, I am new as of today. I saw a lady standing outside a pub with a blue glowing cigarette. When she told me what it was and that it was the best thing she had ever done, I went to the local shop and bought a disposable 10 motives. Yuk! Not nice. Then I tried their battery and cartomisers, much better, but soon got fed up recharging the battery every couple of hours. I then found out about vaping from the net, and it seemed a good idea to me. Off I went on a long bus journey yesterday, bought 2 own make batteries, 4 clearomisers, l charger and 4 liquids. £63, ouch! But a good investment I thought. I tried pineapple flavour in the shop, lovely. So was mine till today and now it tastes burnt and gruesome. I looked on the net to see if I had done something wrong, but all I can find is ways to clean the clearomiser, but I've only had it since yesterday. Refilled it to the top this morning, as I had a ball with it yesterday. 11mg. juice, 650 battery. Can anyone help or advise me please. BTW haven't had a roly for 4 weeks come Wednesday. Unheard for me, I am delighted with myself. Thanks to anyone who can help. Oh yes, how long does it take for the battery to recharge. I had one on for four hours and the plug in the wall was still red. Does it change to green when it's ready? Thankyou.

Hello and crazyquilterIt may be that your taste buds are changing and you've just gone off the pineapple. Did you buy any other flavours? The wall plug will stay red to indicate that it's switched on. The USB charger that you will have usually is red while charging and will change to green when full charged

Welcome to you crazyquilter. Without knowing which clearomiser you've bought, it sounds like the coil has run dry and burnt . . . once the juice level drops, then you may find you need to swoosh round the liquid left, to keep the wicks/coil wet and supplied with eliquid. Is it possible to link to what you've actually bought?

Hello crazyquilter, welcome to AAEC. Do you know what clearomizers you bought? It's possible that the coil and wick aren't made very well, so my first advice would be to try your juice in one of the other clearomizers. Some styles are not designed to last, but the good news is that we can help you to get the ones that are. The bad news is that at first glance it looks like you paid a lot of money for some below-par gear, and rectifying that is going to take a little bit more money. Secondly, I would get some stronger juice. I smoked rollie's, about 12 a day, and I now vape at 18mg. A stronger juice will keep the cravings at bay for longer, essential when you are first starting. So, in the short term, swap your clearomiser, tell us what gear you've got (or post a picture if unsure) and we can go from there. edit: I forgot to say - congrats for staying of the roll-ups - 4 weeks is no mean feat, and it gets easier from here!

Thankyou for replying. That was helpful. I don't think my taste is changing, burnt is burnt. Horrible! Yes, I got three other flavours, but I did like this pineapple and would like to finish it before replacing with something else. Can you put unused from the clearomiser back into the bottle? I am quite disappointed I must say, I really didn't expect this. Thought I was in heaven too

You can put it back in the bottle - just pull off the dropper top on the bottle with some pliers, and pour it back in the same way you poured it out. Do it over the sink though

If you let the juice get too low you could have burnt the coil best to refill at about quarter full to start with. You don't say which clearo's you got but it sounds like maybe ce4 which are disposable and can't have the coils changed. Coil changing is very easy just unscrew and replace. With replaceable coils most are washable so much better value though more expensive to start I'm still using my mini protanks that I got to start with 4 months now and as wash the coils they are reused (still using ones I have had since beginning though bought a pack of spare coils they are about £1.99). With the battery as Karma said the light on the charger turns green when fully charged and can take a few hours especially the first charge. I tend to charge mine overnight so not too sure how long it takes. Anyway welcome to our happy forum hope this helps and very well done on quitting the stinkies

I wouldn't pour juice that is tasing burnt back into the bottle, it could taint the whole lot!
it's not recommended to charge batteries overnight, best to do it while you're around!

to the forum crazyquilterthe battery should take about 3 hrs to charge from flat Dont know what kind of clearomisers you bought. if thay are top heating coils. you will need to tip them upside down to keep the wick wet. or you will get a dry hit (burnt tast) clearomizers depending on how good thay are should last 3 to 4 weeks. depending on how much you use them. you may need to up your nik level how many rolliies were you on ? have herd of 1 sellers lasting 1 week well done for getting to 4 weeks

crazyquilter firstly welcome to AAEC, As with all new things, there is a learning curve and we are here to help you master the basics. There are numerous postings about the correct vapeing style and maintenance of your gear on here, I would recommend the works by both giles and Super-Shiny. First and foremost, take your time. replace the unused juice as long as it has not discoloured into it's bottle and give the clearomiser a good wash/rinse in hot water and set it aside to dry compleatly. Now try an other juice in a different clearo, but don't hammer it. Over the next couple of days you can acclimitise your self to vaping and with the help of us all here on forum, research just what kit is best at the moment for a newcomer within your budget. (please please refrain from random purchases as you will probable wind up spending your money without acheiving your pleasure aims.) There is no such thing as a silly question on here and you will not be juged or condemmed in any way. We are not that sort of Forum.

You are all so kind. I just looked at the boxes they came in. There's no name just Ego-t, Ego-c and Egow on the side. Yes, I can post pictures when I figure out how to upload them here. The clearomisers just look like ones I have seen elsewhere on the net, see through plastic with matching mouthpiece. Inside looks the same but funny thing is, I can't see the wick anymore. OMG maybe I smoked it!! One battery (i have two) has been in the wall plug now since 8 since morning and it's still red. I will try to do the pictures now, thankyou thankyou thankyou.

So true charon. crazyquilter listen to the advice above. You are doing so well and we are here to help. Remember these problems can be sorted and you've joined one of the friendliest forums on the net . If you have a cig in the stress of getting your e-cig kit sorted out tis not a prob. Feel sorry for one of my poor workers who loved the e-cig till she got a stonker of a boil on her face from one of the dilutents (that a lot of people have problems with but can be rectified). So empathise with this poor worker (her GP by the way was not understanding ) and feel her pain and think 'It could be worse' charon has given excellent advice. Do your research before purchasing anything. Check reviews/prices/postage/delivery times etc... And you're a quilter. fabbo . I'm a crocheter Jane

crazyquilterIn the reply box, you will see a line of Icons on top, the third one along allows you to upload an image into your post. with the battery you have had on charge for a while, are you using a mains charger or your USB on your puter? If it's the USB, then it will take for ever to charge and the indicator to turn green. Hope this helps out.

crazyquilterIf I was you turn off power, unscrew from charger then then switch charger back on (or plug back into pc if thats how you are powering it ) then screw battery on slowly until light on switch of battery flashes three times then stop screwing and leave to charge ( most batteries flash 3 times though some just illuminate and stay on ) this way you know charger & battery connected OK

I wish I had joined and read all the advice before jumping straight in with the results I am having now. However I have changed the clearomiser as suggested, and hurray! back to the nice flavour again. I am wondering if I let the juice go too low. I stupidly thought I should finish the juice in the clearomiser before refilling. I understand now I should keep it topped up to keep the wick saturated. Oh that makes sense. I am quite happy with the 11mg. strength I think. The 10motives e cigs I was using before yesterday were 16mg and I am hoping through time to keep reducing and eventually stop. I am so pleased, no more ash in my car, no baccy on the floor where I rolled my cigs in advance for the day. The advantages are enormous. I am so grateful for your help. I will go and read the information you advised. Oh researching on the net was driving me nuts. I would find exactly what I thought I wanted, looked somewhere else to see if I could get it cheaper, and there were even more. It was so confusing. I bought c4 clearomisers, don't know by whom, as there's no name on the box, and 680 something or other batteries from Vapourtorium in Carlisle. I looked at Riva 1100 before, maybe I should have bought that. Anyway deed done, I can't afford to throw £63 away. At least if I use it for a while I can then get something better, but of course I will be asking here first this time. Oh I took some photographs, but as I thought, can't get them on here. Thankyou all again. You are great!
