Overall I think there were some positives that can be taken from last nights offering. At the very least I was impressed with the amount of vapers in Britain today ( 1.3 million) We are growing at an alarming rate and if the trend continues they will have a hard time getting rid of us. Yes there were damning reports mentioned ( oils report being the thing most non smokers and some wanna be non smokers will cling to) At the other end of the scale there will be plenty of people that will cling to the quote " they are at least a 100 times safer than cigarettes" . It was annoying that they chose not to cover the ingredients correctly, ie. as we all know. 1, Nicotine is addictive not harmful. 2. Vg is the only thing recommended as a cough relief for babies under 6 months, 3. Pg is used as a carrier in asthma drugs. The fact that we warrant a programme about us at all, shows we are becoming a force. That can only be a good thing.

Now I've watched last nights VVTV I have mellowed a lot. For good or bad ecigs have been brought into the limelight in a way we've been been trying for over a year to do. We couldn't have paid for this sort of coverage, for the majority of ecig users and millions of "normals" they now no about the EU and our fight. They know about us and they know about gen2 and 3. Because we all know the science and facts inside out some of the programme was grating and almost offensive but as Chris said 7.30 on a Thursday night is not the time for science. Most of the millions watching it were waiting for Emerdale or something to start. Science would have bored them and turned them off. Although we know some of the stuff in the programme was bollocks there was some stuff that was spot on and it's now been shown to millions. If nothing else it may kick start a debate and questions by the general public and workmates, i.e the man on the street. Now is the time for us to capitalise on the raised awareness by public vaping. Yes we'll get some oil comments and some toxin comments but people will see us vaping in public and remember the programme and notice us and that is a good thing. The more people that know the more people can be educated. At least a lot more people will be interested and willing to talk about ecigs now but I suspect the window is brief, soon who's on big brother or how much Beiber's bail was will be the most important thing on their mind outside their own family again.

one thing they said right at the beginning of this programme was info about what an ecig was and what is in it. now i thought they would split the eliquid ingredients down into PG/VG et al but unfortunately they didnt. nor did they say which toxins they were on about. the programme ended on a positive note which is what most people will remember

Even having something that wasn't entirely anti on mainstream TV was a win.

I have just watched this as i was working nightshift last night and overall i don't think it was that bad tbh. I was expecting it to be alot worse and i seen more positives than negatives with the biggest positive being from the dude from cancer research.
Yes the woman who lost her husband was not good but they did confirm that there was not much evidence to say it was caused by what he was vaping or if vaping had anything to do with his death at all.
I cannot believe the WHO have done so little research into e-liquid but are adamant that the toxins in it are not good for you. If the Toxins as he put it are that bad then why the F*ck haven't they done some tests?
The future of vaping i feel will be decided not on the health benefits but on the taxation and profits made by goverments and tobacco companies.

Ok, so only 15% of the 85 nations have 'scientifically' tested the e cig.....Why didn't they give us the results of the countries who took part and the results of their tests? If they were detrimental they would have told us wouldn't they?

Even having something that wasn't entirely anti on mainstream TV was a win. Sums up my sentiments exactly. Of course a point for point rebuttal for each anti argument & fear would've been better but we're heading in the right direction. In terms of mainstream exposure vaping is still in its early days. As more smokers make the switch and as more research becomes available it's inevitable that vaping will be shown in an increasingly positive light. All we need to do is hang on in there and wait for the hysterical tantrums of those who have much to lose to pass.

Well it happened today , guy at work says to me did you watch that thing on tv about ecigs , ( me,yeah I did ) him , what about that guy who died after smoking an ecig because of the oil giving him cancer . . Even though I told him otherwise he wouldn't have it , and he is one of them that delights in telling all and sundry even though he knows jack shit about it all and will not be told any different once he believes his own views.

MP I'm afraid I won't be buying from you, as I only vape 50/50 diesel - paraffin oil. The paraffin gives a much better throat hit.

Had a salesman in the office today and he saw me take a toot on mine. He said he saw the programme and he said it was interesting that it's much much safer than smoking. Then he said only one person dieing in 4 years, Better than 100,000 a year from smoking.
So not everyone is getting a bad impression.

I would have thought that was the take home message from the program. The one death they could find in over 4 years, and it wasn't conclusively the result of the e-cig.
Personally, despite not having seen the program yet, from what I can gather, it really wasn't that bad, and could indeed have been a LOT worse.
