So I have been messing around with rebuilding and rewicking protanks and have a kayfun and kayfun lite that I am messing with, but as I've said before I am considering a nemesis with a kick.
Ive gone from cigalikes, to egos, to twists to itvv3 to the zmax (vamo on route) all in around 2 years
my question is (just cause I'm nosey!)why did you move over to mechanical mods such as nemesis, caravella, stingray etc?

If the battery dies in a mech mod, you just get a new battery. But if the likes of MVP dies, you need a whole new mod. That's why I changed to mechs. No electric panels to go bust or fixed batteries wearing out.

Errrrm, coz this lot told me to and it is shiny Similar reasons to the above, very little to go wrong in it, clones are cheap to buy if you want to dip your toe in. Did I mention how pretty they are? Sent from my Nexus 7 using proboards

I like my nemesis in 18350 mode for out and about and for work, it's dinky and as I'm on building sites it seem to be pretty much bullet proof, I've dropped it, stood on it and it still works, dropped my vamo and it fell apart ! Boo hoo hoo ! I loved my vamo

i am more into vaping for the hobby side of things aswell as getting my nicotine and was the next step for me after vv/vw devices and a mech mod will never breakdown on you, you service it yourself

For the reasons above but eventually moved onto a provari and now use them 90% of the time. Size is key for me and the Provari mini in 18500 mode is about 2 mm longer than a nemesis in 18500 mode with a kick. Yes they are expensive but by the time you tot up the cost of several mechs and kicks your well on your way. And I found once I got mine everything else is relegated to the backup shelf.

a) to see what all the fuss was about b) to have something which can't go wrong in case the TPD screws us c) they look fab d) they've been so cheap recently it would be rude not to
I have to say though, I'm running mine kicked so not truly 'mech'

So far responses indicate Reliability in terms of not much to break/being serviceable/hardeness Size/portability/looks Good for hobbyists and I assume collectors etc Just interesting, based on a thread I started last week about getting one myself, I was asked why I wanted one, I answered, but just wondered why others got one etc

Because clones are basically a tenner and replaceable separately not just from the battery, but also the Kick. I've killed four VW mods and I'm sick of the expense.

Yeah at 10-20 quid a go you can get a few different ones to suit your mood. I love mine and already have my eye on the next couple of mech mods I'm going to order. I do have mine kicked just for peace of mind.

This illustrates my point, could of probably bought a big P for the cost of what you've trashed and it would still be going strong. Not a criticism barrynorton as I've bought all those vw's and mechs too. But in hindsight and if I was starting over I be straight into 2 provaris and a couple of nemmi clones as back ups.
