Didn't think of that, Hissie. Who'd be a celeb? In my pre-vape days I met some of the nicest people when I was shivering outside.

Has anyone tried one of these cigs yet or found out about what nic levels they contain and do they last for the equiv of 30 cigs ?
No, but I'm tempted to try just from curiosity. As you say, it's probably the nic levels that will let them down. I tried reducing my strengths but found I was vaping more frequently and for much longer. I can vape happily on something like James's Benson Fences high or extra high, but more like the way I would smoke cigs, so I don't think my total daily nicotine intake is any higher.

Just spotted this bit of news on the internet that cheered me up. "Other celebrities who have been seen puffing an e-cigarette include Leonardo Di Caprio, Kate Moss, Paris Hilton, Kevin Connelly, Twiggy, Posh Spice, Kevin Federline, Naomi Campbell, Britney Spears, Eric Roberts, Simon Cowell, Sarah Harding, Taryn Manning, Rhys Ifans, and Tom Petty." This was the article www.officialwire.com/main.php?action=posted_news&rid=228227

I've been creeping past the consultation post hoping if I hide it will all go away! I don't think I could live without James's Benson Fences!

You were on holiday, loads of dosh, eating out all the time, cheap ciggies and everyone smoking around you lol.
That's so right, and loads of wine too which always lowers my will-power even more. Thank you both for your kind words, I'm more determined than ever now! It was a GREAT holiday though, I love Greece so much.

Like deesigner said in her post, I haven't died, but I have fallen by the wayside. :-[ Just back from nearly 3 weeks in Greece, and seeing all those half-price cigarettes and people smoking all around me was the worst thing for someone with my self-discipline! (Ken, I really admire you for stopping in that enironment.) I'm cross with myself but I'm taking a deep breath and getting myself back on course before that hacking cough comes back to remind me why I did it. I actually LIKE my e-cig too. Grrr.

Hi pinky. I'm quite new myself, only 4 or 5 weeks so far. I think Scylla is right when she says lighter smokers find it harder to adjust, I smoked 10-15 cigs a day for 40-odd years and enjoyed every one! I think the right juice matters a lot. Although I was a light smoker the one I like best is the high strength Benson Fences I got from James. I've tried others in various strengths but I keep coming back to that one, it's the closest I've tried to the experience of a real smoke. Going to be stocking up on that when I get back from my upcoming holiday. The other funny thing is I've got a DSE901 and a 510, both minis, but the 510 somehow misses the mark for me even when it's filled in exactly the same way; I love the 901 and that's the one I use all the time. I don't mind the shorter battery life, I keep a spare battery charged and just swop them over when necessary. Don't give up, you'll hit on just the right combination for you.

I don't mind how many others disappear/amalgamate/whatever just so long as this one stays! (So long as allaboute doesn't get flooded with homeless forum members who are not as friendly as the ones here!) I don't think I would have got started without allaboute, and whenever I have a look at others I always beetle back here where I feel at home. I look in all the time and read all the latest posts and smile or sympathise, whichever is appropriate, even if I don't chip in all that often. Like lisa said, the new forum has a different slant and is welcome from my point of view. I wouldn't say we've got a bajillion, but in the end what does it matter? People will go where they feel comfortable or well-informed or whatever

You're probably having your lunch about now. I'm hoping you are having a lovely time, and found some good vaping spots!

Scylla! I did the same when I had a new laptop and got a close-up view of all my wrinkles. It was the next-worst shock to the time I first got glasses (I'd needed them for ages and been in denial) and saw myself clearly in the mirror for the first time in years. I looked hundreds of years older than I'd thought! > All those years I'd been thinking I still looked in the flush of youth!

I was a smoker for 40 years!!! Strangely I never got beyond about 15 a day, but still too many, and I was absolutely incurable - smoking when I was on my last legs with bronchitis etc - and none of the stop-smoking aids worked for me at all. I haven't yet vaped inside anywhere, although I'm pretty sure I'd be ok in my local, but that's because I quite like disappearing on my own for 5 minutes peace and quiet and smoking gives me an excuse! An anti-smoking friend has told me she's happy for me to do it in her house though, my OH says he doesn't notice anything, and I have a feeling there are lots of places where it wouldn't be a problem once people understand what they are. An added bonus is if you ever stay in non-smoking hotel rooms etc as I did recently. It was great to sit inside with my cuppa and my 901 instead of trudging off out.

Hi admakast from another recent convert. Don't be put off by the little ups and downs, you'll find just the right combination for you and it will all be worth it. Good luck and happy vaping.
