wonder if you could make a windup ecig like the radios and torches you can get ,not need for batteries then either lol I should have one of these ready for sale on here next week Is going to be more along the lines of topping up your charge as you go rather than doing a full charge from flat. It will only be an 18350 1200mah though, am in the final phase now Have been on it for a little while. Is going to be pretty cheap and plasticy as a proof of concept but if it's a winner I will come up with something more substantial.

I sold one of these yesterday and have been asked to make a couple more, a Honda Silverwing and a Ducatti 749s both in 1/18th scale.
If anybody here would like to commission one I am offering a reduced price for AAEC of only £40 delivered.
They are a great conversation piece and make a lovely gift or collector/enthusiast item.
I am also happy to mod any other vehicles from a Hummer to a Harrier, a Subaru to a Submarine!
Specs may vary with design constraints, availability and specific requirements but this would be agreed in advance. Spec:
1/18th scale metal frame Ducatti 999 with plastic fairing and rubber tyres. Protected 1200mah 18350 battery under the tank. 510/ego connector in saddle. Amber LED in running light. Fire button in off side fairing. Working side stand. 0-60 in 3.7 volts!
Would look fab on your desk or fireplace with the atty of your choice sitting proud.
I only had a CE5 handy but a Nova would set this off a treat!
Feel free to leave a note here or PM me.

Probably a bad coil or poor connection. If the coil isn't heating correctly/evenly you will have low resistance, hot metals (mostly) have higher resistances.

Thanks Stewarty, there are many knowledgeable voices on this forum, most wiser than mine when it comes to PV usage and modding.
It must be one of the friendliest most helpful places I have ever (virtually) been.

Make sure you check the conductivity of the epoxy you are going to use as some have many of the properties of metal but aren't very good electrically.
My preference is for something like 'Arctic' Silver which has great conductivity but is about £12.
Rather than a traditional tap after curing you could try a thin smear of epoxy and then screw an old carto in and out again within the specified set up time, a couple of applications could save a lot of effort.

There's always a way mate, not much that can't be fixed. Was thinking that the 510 connector might punch out, failing that I would probably build up thickness and then tap it to 510 thread (7mm x .5) or drill for a tapped friction fit tube insert. Probably go with brass if the head is stainless steel, shouldn't need to worry about galvanic corrosion for a few years that way. The plastic bit (Dielectric separator) shouldn't give me too many issues as I was a radio engineer for 15 years before becoming an electro-mechanical engineer, so I am quite familiar with them. Anyway PM me if you want me to have a look, won't cost you more than a jiffy bag and postage.

Of course you could always contact the manufacturer and ask if they will replace the top cap?

Sounds like the thread is knackered. Can't you just pull/drill it out and drop a new one in?
If you are replacing it anyway I can have a look at fixing the old one for you to keep as a spare.

Last coffee machine I had was £7 from tesco, worked a treat and lasted 2.5 years.
Didn't buy any filter coffee as I knew I had some at home. Eventually found it in back of a cupboard and it made a delicious brew.
Only after did I check the wrapper and found it was 3 years out of date! Still drank the rest of it though, vacuum packed foil had kept it loovely and fresh.
