I work in Bloomsbury and walk down into London's West End many evenings - quite a few vapers about these days I've been working (and vaping) at Bloomsbury Way this last week, you've probably walked past me! I haven't seen any other vapers but have had lots of people stopping to ask about it (including a man in the back of a Bentley having a natter with me while stopped at the lights the other day!) and plenty of curious stares. I do like the idea of giving a nod and smile to other vapers you pass. I'll do it if I ever see one!

Well done Smokeybebe - but shouldn't you be vapeybebe now? Where did you get your Parma Violets from, and is it nice? I just got one from Paradise Vape but haven't tried it yet. I do love those shoes in your avatar, not that I could walk in them! Just think, you'll be able to buy even more with the money you save on not smoking... that's unless the Shinyitis gets you! Vape kit is so addictive, from shopping around to postie-stalking, and of course talking about your finds with us terrible shiny-enablers on here!

I never thought I would see the day I agreed with Rod Liddle on anything, but credit where it's due, he's done a fine job with this article.

Thank you everyone for a great night out! I didn't know anyone beforehand, but the drink was flowing, the juice was vaping and everyone was so nice and interesting and fun that I felt like I was among friends in no time. Big thanks to Phoenixflame (Julie) (Julie) who took me under her wing and introduced me to everybody. I now have serious mod envy though, I got to see some seriously cool pieces of kit and some very impressive vape clouds being made! I forget who it was who had the Aurora, and who had the squeezy tank? And Blakey's silver matchbox style mod was just gorgeous. I'm looking forward to the next do already.

It worked for me like that too! One (stupid!) reason I used for not stopping smoking was that it made me put on about a stone each time I tried before. And it seemed it was never the right time as there was always some event coming up that I "didn't want to look fat at"
But when I started vaping, I loved it that I didn't have the usual "bottomless pit" hunger that I normally got when quitting, the sweet juices satisfied my sweet tooth, and having something to do with my mouth and hands meant I wasn't mindlessly snacking. Just one reason vaping has really worked for me.

Best: I'm tempted to say my beloved rainbow Vision Spinner, it is my first VV battery and much better than the non-variables, long battery life, brilliant to use and as well as that, it is so beautiful it makes me smile every time I see it! (And I've noticed some admiring/curious glances on the street too!)
But no, the Rainbow is a close 2nd place behind my Mini Protank. After 6 crummy clearos that seemed to do nothing but leak, spit and give foul dry hits, and were murder to clean out, the MP is flawless. It holds more than enough juice to last all day, cleans easily (it comes with 2 coils so I can soak & dry one while using the other, and buy new coils separately), and the metal drip tip has a nicer mouth-feel than plastic. Again it's beautiful to look at, and best of all no leaks!
Worst: apart from the plastic clearos, another vote for coffee juice! It was supposed to taste of espresso but it had that strange earthy taste that some whiskies have when they're made in peat-heavy areas. And only the merest hint of coffee, closer to weak instant. It wasn't unpleasant, I finished the 10ml, but wasn't the flavour I hoped for at all.

And surely if they were taking up smoking to be cool and rebellious, they'd want their parents to know and be cheesed off about it, otherwise what's the point?

Yes, the conversation was funny but sad all at the same time. We can only hope the young'uns who are taking up vaping were already smokers, or those "at risk" of starting due to peer pressure or wanting to fit in by themselves. Sadly smoking does still have some cool factor among some groups, so if vaping overtakes cigs, that's got to be a better situation, not ideal but better than taking up tobacco in your teens?

Funny conversation I heard between 2 stallholders while browsing the market on my lunch break:
Man 1 - "What's that she's got" Man 2 - "It's one of them e-cigs. It's what the cool kids are smoking these days" 1 - "Really?" 2 - "Yeah, they can smoke them indoors at gigs so they're not standing around outside. And they don't smell of fags so their parents don't know" 1 - "Crazy kids nowadays, what will they think up next?"
So I went and said hi to them and they were asking me to blow vape at them so they could smell that it didn't smell of stinkies and they were asking me if it was safer than cigs, and where you buy the kits, and they were fascinated that the juice comes in so many different flavours. Neither smoked but both knew people who were lifelong smokers and had tried everything to stop, so they're going to spread the word about vaping!
I didn't know vaping was "cool", I've only ever seen one other person doing it, I mustn't move in the right circles!
And I'm quite flattered to be taken for "one of the cool kids" as I'm 32 and was dressed in a suit for work!

A man walks into a bar. As he sits at the bar he sees a beautiful young woman on the stool next to him, so he offers to buy her a drink as he is celebrating. The woman tells him she is celebrating too, as the barman comes over to take their order the man asks for a double whisky and - "what will you have, my lovely?"
"Orange juice for me, please" she says.
The barman goes to pour the drinks and the man asks the woman "An orange juice? I thought you were celebrating something?"
"Well" the woman says, "my husband and I have been trying for a baby for 5 years with no success, but today I went to the doctors and they told me I an pregnant!"
"Well done! Congratulations!" says the man, and they raise their glasses.
So then the woman asks the man what he is celebrating.
"I thought I was ruined" he said. "I was on the verge of losing everything. I'm a chicken farmer, and 6 months ago all my hens stopped laying. Not a single egg to be seen. But I got up this morning, and their nests are full of huge brown eggs!"
"Well done!" says the woman. "What did you do differently to get them laying eggs again?"
He replied "I realised that my pair of roosters are getting a bit old and tired, and probably weren't doing it for the girls any more. So I drove into town on market day and picked up a pair of frisky young cocks."
The woman smiled and said "what a coincidence!"

Oh, according to the Fail everything causes cancer. So if vaping doesn't kill us off, there's about 20,000,000 other things in the queue.
Nothing to do with the fact that we're living longer lives and age is a massive factor for certain cancers, or that large scale public awareness campaigns mean more people self-check and go to the doctor with suspicious symptoms thus increasing the rate of diagnosis and early diagnosis, meaning, ironically, that someone could survive cancer, live healthily for many more years, and get it a second time?
Nah, don't be silly!

I would love to have a tattoo done, but have been chickening out for donkey's years! I want to have a lemniscate (looks like an 8 lying sideways and represents energy, infinity and eternity) just below my neck, just far enough down that work clothes will cover it.
I've wanted the same thing for about 15 years now, but I still worry that "what if I go off it in 5 years' time?" Which is stupid as it will be on my back so I can forget it is there! I'm not at all bothered about the pain as even if it is excruciating, my design is only little so I think I'll be able to grit my teeth for an hour if that. And I figure it can't be too painful as so many people keep going back for loads of tattoos. And I know quite a few heavily tattooed people whose tattoos are beautifully done, so I can get recommendations for skilled tattooists and what to look for at a good studio, so not risk a bad job.
I'm a temp worker and have been looking for a perm job for a couple of years now, so I think when I get a permanent role I'll take the leap and get my tattoo to celebrate that.

Spotted a stallholder just setting up this morning in Walthamstow Market, East London. He was hanging up posters for "Vapor Pens" which looked like the beginners' small battery & clearo set up. Unfortunately I didn't get back there later to see what he was selling - but being able to pick up a cheap vaper could be useful in an emergency!
