I have a P3, bought soon as it came out and loved it for the well-earned Provari build quality. Agree 100% about the menu faff though. Shortly after I fell in love with DNA40. And it's the only tube mod I consider reaching for, now and again. Bloody provari fanboy

Running low on veg glycerin, my natural instinct was to order some more from a vape shop online but... why not try a pharmacy instead? And there it was, 200 ML for £1.39 at Boots! Trip down the road and half an hour later, 3 bottles obtained, did feel a bit like a druggie scoring a fix when walking in at first though. I do like to support vape shops when possible, but the amount of VG I get through the low cost option has to come first

My DNA40s (not just one of em) have developed this odd behaviour. "Weak battery" reports on a newly charged, not ancient battery. When the atty is removed, pulsing gradually increases the battery meter back to full, then putting the atty back on it plunges straight back to 0. Apologies for crap focus, hopefully you can see the power bar on the mod.

I'm quite the fan of the temp control used in istick TCs. Mainly because there is no wattage control when using TC - you set the temperature, and it fires a full 40W (in the case of my device) until it hits temp then throttles back. Basically a poor mans preheat. It takes one more tweak out of the process, which won't appeal if you like that, and a DNA200 in that respect it ain't! But the idea of just setting temperature to 430F and hitting Go is appealing to lazy gits e.g. me.

People have reported great results with wibbly water machines when a drop of vodka or isopropyl alcohol is added to the water. Trouble is you pour a glass of voddy for yourself, add a teaspoon of vodka to the bath, take another drink, forget what you were doing, add a teaspoon to the bath, have another drink, bath the teaspoon, pour another, bath the teaspoon in the vodka, take a glug, spoon the bath in the bath... zzzzz

I don't burn test but have a habit after each new coil build of measuring its resistance on a cheapo resistance tester, like this one. Reason being if the DNA40 or other TC mod reads the resistance too high, it can send out the wrong power level for the coil, which can mean burning or cooking the juice. Case in point, a new coil he other day came in at .22 ohms on the Chinameter and the DNA40 it was popped on (Hcigar) read it at middle .3s. The fix in this case was to tighten up one of the earth bond screws inside the DNA40, after which the ohms reading came in much more sensibly.

A Velocity (Tobeco) popped through the letterbox yesterday and wow it is very very good. Huge post holes, posts to the side for lots of room when coiling up, and with 4 post holes it's easy peasy to dual coil, not something I find easy with the other RDAs. Got it running a dual coil Nickel build at 0.10 ohms on the istick 40 TC; it's definitely for the cloud chasing community. It's right at the top of my favourites list of RDAs.

It came back to life; in the most unexpected way. The firmware installed is 1.10, coincidentally that was something I checked a few days back after looking at a review (pbusardo or rip) which showed how to display the version. The latest firmware on the joyetech site was 1.10. However I reasoned that a re-flash might reset whatever had gone awry and downloaded the image. Next step was to link the vt via usb to the computer, which was a bust as the PC didn't recognise it as a new device (Windows 10). However it did show signs of charging off the usb port. But more surprisingly, it was then firing correctly. AND instead of reading full battery, the evic battery meter dropped to about 50%. So whatever weirdness it had experienced was involving the charging circuitry.
Got the Titanium-coiled Erlikongen on it now and it's working ok. Only does a 3 to 4 second draw before hitting TC, an issue with the coil I believe. At least it's not totally borked. Thanks everyone for your input.

Today the vt has decided it seems to go all McKee on me and refuse to let me vape. When fire is pressed it flashes a temp reading (that I guess is the current F of the coil) and instantly displays the max temp set, and isn't firing. Removing and refitting the atty, using different attys, using Ti and Ni attys, locking resistance, unlocking resistance, turning it off and on again (working in IT you get used to that), putting it on charge, setting the power to 60W, setting the power to 30W, nothing seems to work. It does exactly the same thing in all cases. The 510 and atty connections have been cleaned with isopropyl thoroughly.
Just ordered an istick 40W TC in case. But am I missing something obvious or more tweaky?

"Acadamics" i.e. McKee at it again. And the media just lap it up.
