This? It's the outer sleave that is wonky, take out mouthpiece and press down with your thumb on the top, I think you can fix it with a spot of glue, I guess they are a bit cheap. Mini/Vivi Nova are much better quality build

I see it the same as giles, maybe some attempt at legislation/control of eliquid quality/strength/source/labelling etc etc. Possibly maybe some control/duty on liquid nicotine.
It's more likely that they will be interested in the age restriction side of it and clarifying/changing the law to clearly include e-cig products. Go onto the trading Standards website and there is no mention, everything is based around 'tobacco products' and tobacco is the leaf, isn't it? this is pretty much it, Since 1st October 2007 it is illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone under 18 years of age – this includes cigarettes, cigars, roll-your-own and pipe tobacco as well as cigarette rolling papers. It'll certainly be confusing for the retailer/shop assistant/trading standards officer/Police as to whether e-cigs are classed as 'tobacco products'. More than likely they are under the category 'common sense/advisory'. The law around tobacco product sales may have to be changed/reworded to include nicotine products or something of that nature. I bet the CPS wouldn't currently attempt to prosecute a sale to a minor. walk into my local off licence and you will see a big E-Lites counter display with all the kit, leaflets round the shop, poster in the window, probably a sales assistant stood behind the counter who isn't sure who can buy them. Yet, cigs are hidden from view behind a roller shutter. In these cases there may be a case to answer that e-cigs could encourage taking up smoking.
So, changing/rewording the law as per the above, might also subject e-cigs to the same marketing restrictions, no above or below the line advertising, no displaying in the store (post 2015), plain packaging laws (possibly in the future) etc etc
It's entirely possible that they may just clarify the tobacco laws/change the wording to include nicotine products/tobacco replacement products or something of that nature.

I've just recently bought the same kit and not had anything particularly to consider an issue, but then I just vape at home, so don't carry them around in pockets etc. I have had the odd occasion where there has been a little leakage or residue from filling, but like others say, there are rubber o rings at the crutial points to stop leaks. One problem I have had is detailed here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newmembers&thread=14400&page=2#284052 Another problem I have also found is that the gap you have for refilling is very small. This will be fine for syringe filling, but If you buy the 5ml testers, some of them come in tiny containers and are quite difficult to squeeze, the result being a bit of overspill/mess sometimes. For that reason, I've now bought a Vivi Nova clearo (with the ego-t collar) which appears much better made, has a much bigger gap for refilling and appears to be much better at not leaking (or not as messy to refill). They certainly require less careful use overall (someone may come forward with a better solution). The down side is they are a bit more bulky and a bit heavy, but that's not an issue for me being a home vaper only.

Thanks for the link Des, they look good value. Can I have a quick explain of what varying the Voltage does, please? And, what volts will the ego-T's be?

Got a couple of ego-T 650mah batteries, 2 x CE5 clearo and a Vivi Nova (with 2x ego adapters). I'm wanting a 3rd battery. Obviously, cheap, powerful and good quality (haha). Doesn't have to be the most powerful, but I do want decent quality that will last. Are ego-T as good as any other? Are there any other things I need to consider? Any good deals out there? Am I making it too complicated? cheers Paul

Is it appropriate for a Jimmy Saville & Gary Glitter in an elevator joke?

Couple of issues to look out for, which could cause leeking If you don't screw the atomiser down tight, it can unscrew with the mouthpiece. If you're a bit ham fisted with filling up (especially the small 5ml testers which are hard to squeeze) you might make the clear plastic tank move a bit in it's collar. Which then makes the mouthpiece screw on wonky. You can repair it by just pushing down on the top of the clearo/tank which will straighten it all up again. I've no idea if these are inferior to others, they work well, for sure.

cornersruns, I've been using the exhale ce5 for 2 weeks now and not had the issue you are talking about. The clearomiser comes complete, so you shouldn't have done anything wrong. Have you contacted Exhale? get some advice off them. Have you experimented with it stood upright and laid on side, to see when it's doing the leeking? There are various rubber grommets (0 rings or whatever they're called) used in the clearo to prevent leeking, yours might be missing one.

I stopped a couple of weeks ago, was an evening smoker only, but every evening without fail, so still an addict. Usually smoking 8 -10 cigs from 8 -11pm. When the CE5 kit arrived I went mad on it for a couple of days and the back of the roof of my mouth (soft palate) quickly became a bit swollen and soar. I put this down to going crazy on the vapour and moderated myself a bit after the first 2 days. 2 weeks later I'm still vaping more than I smoked, but I'm expecting/hoping it will settle down even more when the initial novelty wears off. I don't think I smoked enough to have the symptoms you've had, but have heard of heavy smokers having your symptoms when they went cold turkey. Same with heavy coffee drinkers as well, dizziness, sickliness and headaches when they quit. stick with it

If you want to keep some of the familiar features like the start button and menu, there are downloadable add-ons.

BTW, I'm not suggesting you should follow what I did, just that, as a noob, I had little issue with doing it. Even possibly not by the recommended method, without incident. They appear to be fairly robust and simple, apart from the wick/coil/atomiser bit, which probably needs a bit of careful handling.

had mine a week and cleaned them over the weekend.
Basically took them apart and cleaned each bit individually in a bowl of hand hot water with a small blob of washing up liquid (not sure about the washing up liquid, but I did it), rised each bit under the tap. breaks down into 5 parts, drip tip, clear outer, long metal bit, atomiser/wick and little plastic bit with metal tip.
Blotted them each on kitchen towel and blew down all the holes and crannies. blotted the wick (being careful not to pull on the wick). Left them overnight stood on end. blew again down all the holes from both ends and left for a bit longer as one bit still had some water/liquid in.
re assembled, did a dry burn (you can look down the hole, with drip tip off, and see the coil glow red).
Working fine

Hi I've also just started and went for the exhale starter kit as above, as recommended on here. I was in the same boat as you, started with cig-like cartridges (e-lite) a few weeks ago, which were a bit useless, either the batteries were on charge all the time or the cartridges hardly worked or appeared to last a very short time. I swapped between cigs and ecigs for a week or two, the good bit being I had realised that I could easily make the changeover if I had better kit. I considered 3 kits, exhale CE5 Starter kit, Viva La Riva Deluxe starter kit or going full hog with a Vape Escape Vision 1000 Ultimate. In the end I plumbed for the exhale starter kit (with a plug in wall charger). The deciding reason was that it looked fully interchangeable with the VE Vision 1000 kit, which I would buy at a later date if it all worked out. The Ego battery appears to be used extensively, so I can try other delivery systems in the future as well. That was my thought process, not sure if it was a good one or not. Whilst I was doing all this and waiting for the kit to be delivered, I started re filling the e-lite cartridges I had, with some eliquid I'd already bought, this worked much better re smoke/flavour. Not sure about Skycig, but e-lites was a simple case of prizing the plastic cap off and soaking the wad/gauze inside (being careful not to squirt eliquid down the hole in the middle). I managed for about 5 days cig free on this, I just had to constantly manage the battery charging. Now been using the exhale kit for about 5 days. 1st thing, you have to press the button on the side to work it, the instructions didn't say that (exhale are altering their instructions). A battery lasts loads longer and the charging has been much quicker (might be due to having a wall charger now). Lots of continuous smoke, lots of eliquid inside the tank. So far, I'm very pleased with it. I've decided to do a clean of one of the CE5's today, seemed quite simple on a youtube vid. I'm sure the Viva La Riva starter kit is just as good. Re eliquid, I've bought a selection of 6 x 5mls from Vapourtine with a promo code off here (6PACK) which worked out at £1.48 per 5ml. Re nicotine strength, I was on appox 8 a day GV rolling tobacco. I got a few 11mg and a few 18mg strength. My experience is that I'm currently vaping loads more than I smoked, possibly just due to new toy syndrome. So, my intention is to cut down the nicotine as much as possible. My next purchase will be low nicotine, but keeping the 18mg in reserve just incase I get an urge. Good Luck Paul

cheers for the info, I'll have a read thru at my leisure. Was wondering why they needed regular cleaning, realising now, probably my saliva mostly?

Following advice off here I bought a eXhale CE5 starter kit and a selection of Vapourtine liquids to sample, using the promo codes. So far so good. The only downside is I'm using it much more than I ever smoked, but hoping the initial new toy novelty might wear off and a return to just itching an evening crux I could never quite kick.
I'm just curious about best practise with these clearomisers.
Should I use them horizontally rather than vertically? or doesn't it matter?.
Are they best kept full all the time, rather than emptyish? (difficult when you have many new flavours to sample).
Do I try and avoid the crackle! pop! sound? Or is it not of any consequence?.
Is the crackle/pop sound an indication that the wick is dry/burning?
Is it obvious when the wick/coil needs replacing? I presume this is the bit that needs replacing regularly?
BTW, no ciggies since I started, first time I've ever managed it at home on an evening. cheers
