When I first used my ecig I was concerned about how much nicotine I was getting so, on day 2, I stopped using nicotine and went on to the zero juice. Having read that nicotine is out of the system in three days, I figured I'd suffer for three days and then feel fine.... Wrong....... I felt absolutely awful for 2 - 3 months before I began to feel as good as I do now. I probably would have been much better to have gradually reduced the nicotine over a period of time. I have to add that I was and am determined to quit smoking which is why I reduced to zero nic juice, and by the time I realised that this was a mistake, well, I figured I may as well soldier on. However, I'd never have got this far without the ecig as, even without any nicotine, it has made it possible for me to stay off the tobacco, when previously all else had failed.... Congrats. to Hanow on your 48 hours of success. And a big welcome in advance to your friend....

Thank you Chrissie, I should add that I'm still very unfit now, but at least the coughing, wheezing and breathlessness has disappeared...... And I am, now, at least using the gym and the equipment, albeit for short bursts at a time.... Am off there right now - to make the most of the man-free afternoon (assuming that the men will be watching the footie and not in the gym this afternoon).....

Hello Summer, I began with the DSE901 and haven't used any other type of ecig. My 901 arrived on the morning of 2nd. Feb. this year and I've not had a single puff of a real cigarette since....... I agree with Scylla that you just need to get your mum started.... She'll get into it and then, at some later date, start to look around for bigger/better/longer lasting etc. And if she's desperate to stop smoking, she may well stick with the 901 as she's happy with it..... Please, do tell her about me - 60 years old, smoked 20 plus a day since I was 16, so unfit and unhealthy I can't tell you.... And here I am, four months after trying the ecig and I'm walking miles, just joined the gym, etc. etc. And, if you knew me, you'd know just what a huge turn-around that is....

Couldn't agree more. Hanow, good luck and do please think of this - count the cigarettes you don't smoke rather than the ones (if any) you do..... I think that's probably the best piece of advice I have seen anywhere. (And it came from this forum) I don't count myself as a non-smoker yet, because I know how addicted I was; but it's 20 weeks tomorrow since I smoked, and I'd never have got to this without the ecig.

Oh, Lolli and Chrissie, So sorry if I come across as holier-than-thou; this is not intentional. I am not at all for one or the other. I was so ill after Christmas with the worst cold and cough that I've ever had, and also very mindful that my 18 month old grandaughter would soon be aware of what I was doing. And I was so sick to death of being made to feel like a second class citizen by the rest of society that I decided it's now or never and I really must try to quit smoking. And I am just gobsmacked that I appear to have quit, and it is all down to the ecig and this forum. Now I'm going to stop before I make everyone sick....

I've not had one puff either Ragjoy. Started with the ecig on 2nd. February this year. Last puff of a real cigarette on the same morning (before the ecig arrived).
Oh, and that nasty taste at the back of my mouth has gone now too.

Welcome to the forum Kath, Good luck with it and do let us know how you get on... Believe me, it's a darn sight better than being addicted to cigarettes. Whiter teeth, pink tongue, renewed sense of taste and smell, and lots more benefits besides. And no more planning everything around being able to have a smoke......

Hi Liland, Welcome to the forum....! I smoked 20+ roll-ups a day; the "drum" juice from OkSmokey is the closest in flavour to the tobacco (Golden Virginia) I was using - in my opinion. I started off using the 901 and now use it very rarely, having found it so good (or maybe not so good?) that I now no longer smoke, and I vape very little if at all. I think the last time I used the ecig was about 4 weeks ago. Haven't had a fag in over 4 months now...... Good luck with whatever you choose and I hope you give it a go because it sure is well worth it.

I really like this forum as it is - stuff is so easy to find and everyone is so friendly....
Although I do look at the ecf from time to time, I find it a bit off-putting as it is so huge.

Just popped in to say that today is 14 weeks tobacco free for me.... And it's all thanks to this forum and the ecig. I have to admit that I don't use the ecig very often at all now, but it has played such a huge part in me having stopped smoking for over three months that I have stocked up on spares just in case I need them in the future. I so desperately want to quit smoking and the ecig has made it possible when all else failed for forty years. May the powers-that-be come to their senses soon. Thanks again to all on here - yes, I'll stay in touch... Now my 4 month old grandson is calling for my attention.

Scylla, Addiction free? Hmmm, well, I don't know... I seem to be addicted to grapes and fruit pastilles now...... Just can't leave them alone.
