the reason Higgs Bosun is called "The God Particle", is actually because the guy who named it, originally called it the Goddamned particle, due to it being so hard to find.
This got shortened to the god particle, as the original name was considered a bit rude!
It is true, I am not making it up!

I think that it is more likely to be the flavour concentrate that causes any irritation. Propylene glycol is used in asthma inhalers, and is not an irritant for the majority of people, it has undergone many more tests than VG with regards inhalation, hence why it is the preferred method of transport for lung medications. Of course some people have specific sensitivities, but in general pure pharma grade propylene glycol does not cause any throat irritation.
I vape pure PG e liquid all day and have never had any throat irritation, however on the whole I vape flavourless e liquid, so maybe that is what makes the difference, the flavourings in the e liquid.

I kind of like the old fashioned 510, simple pull out cartridge set up, just because refill is so quick and easy. I have a feeling that cartomisers may take a little longer to fill, but that is just a guess, but something I will know better by tomorrow, when my new cartomiser e cig arrives! **excitedl**

I tried switching to a no nicotine e liquid for a bit, but I felt it myself. That was quite a while ago though and I only vape 8mg low strength now, so I might see what it is like again. Perhaps with a decent flavour that gave a bit of a throat hit, like menthol, it would be ok.
From what I have read about ncotine, its actual effects are pretty mild, I mean I remember that feeling after having one without for a bit when I was a smoker, but I dont get that any more when vaping, so maybe that was something else in the tobacco smoke did that, gave me that woozy feeling.
Its a mild stimulant, a bit like caffeine I believe, although it can also weirdly act as a relaxant, depending on the length of drag you take. Deep drags have a more relaxing effect, but that may be due to the extra oxygen inhaled i guess.

I was wondering...if you add alcohol to e liquid mixes, do you get same effect as from drinking...I am thinking it wouldnt be enough to make you feel drunk, but then again as it is vaped, maybe more alcohol gets into the blood stream?

I feel your pain! here are a few tips that may solve a few of the stumbling blocks.. 1) Get in lots of batteries and a multi charger, so that you alwyas have plenty charged up and dont have to think about it too much. 2) If you dont like the flavours, try vaping flavourless e liquid. I do most of the day, its the nicotine and throat hit i really want, i can take or leave the flavourings. 3) get an e cig with a better battery life, i went from a mini e cig from totally wicked, to a titan mega, that has bigger bateries and bigger cartridge, made life easier. Am now in the market for the next step up, as there are some really long life batteries and cartos that hold much mroe e liquid available these days. i know what you mean about the faff involved, but the ones you mentioned could probably be solved and the advantages over tobacco smoking are worth a bit of effort i reckon good luck

I knew that the MRHA legislation was being reviewed in 2013, but I had thought that the situation was very hopeful, due to so much precedent being set in EU courts.
It would be a travesty if they did classify them as medical devices, but unless logic and reason go out the window, I cant see it happening.
Th recent ECITA report was so good regarding the the arguments for e cigs, that i feel really hopeful that all will be well when the review comes around.

PEG based e liquid and VG based e liquid, are much less harsh of a throat hit, I know That TECC offers e liquid with those bases, as I once bought some.
Mind you if he is trying to quit tobacco, when you do quit at first you can get a sore throat, so maybe his throat is sensitive at the moment because of that.
I had another idea, a good menthol flavour e juice would probably be quite soothing on his throat.

oo, sleek and shiny and i am luvvin that shade of pink!
Although I love the functionality of some of the latest e cigs with tanks and chunky longer life batteries, they are not exactly very feminine are they! These joytech ones are kinda pretty looking, so i like them, but i better check the battery life etc before i get tempted!

As you say that you stopped using the ecigs on Friday night, but then the asthma got worse through Saturday, it may possibly be unrelated. It is one of those things that is really hard to say, only you will know for sure over time what triggers the asthma. Did you know that many asthma inhalers use PG (propylene glycol) and it is also used to administer medication for lung transplant patients...of course that does not mean that you do not have a reaction to it, everyone is different, but it is generally considered pretty safe for inhalation, even for those with asthma. Flavourings on the other hand might well contain something that is a trigger for you, I would say that was the most likely if it is something in the e liquid. My brothers, sister and dad all suffer from asthma, so i know how bad it can be, I do hope you feel better soon.

That is an excellent report, they have really put together all the facts and arguments for e cigs/ e liquid etc very coherently. I am really pleased to see this, it looks very hopeful that the legislation will stay in our favour, with the mentioned precedents that have been set by european courts, regards their not being classified as medical devices. Thanks for the link!

If you keep it in a cool dark place, color change is minimal. I think it is the UV light that alters the color, its the same with wine. Us vapers probably need to have cellars to store our supplies in

If she was allergic to the PG in the vapour, she would have known it before you started vaping, as PG is contained in loads of random household stuff, food, lotions etc etc. So people with an allergy to PG would notice it quite early in life. it could be something in a flavour I guess, you could try a different flavour and see if it makes a difference. you could also buy her a gas mask perhaps, if she loves you she will wear it

I was recently advised that the riva batteries can last most of the day. I was advised on this thread allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=7544&page=1Those advising also suggested vision carts. I have plans to buy once my current titan 510 batteries are dead, so havent tried yet, but those on the thread have and gave a good review. In terms of the throat hit, the e liquid used will also have an effect on that. Throat hit wise, PG gives a better throat hit and less smoke, VG more smoke less throat hit. Of course the nicotine strength and flavour also makes a difference.
